Vice President, Analytics & Innovation

Who we are looking for:

The Vice President (VP) of Analytics and Innovation is responsible for driving data-driven decision-making and fostering a culture of innovation within the organization. This position oversees the development, strategy, and implementation of advanced analytics and technology strategies, ensuring the agency leverages data to enhance business performance, customer insights, and competitive advantage. The VP of Analytics and Innovation will design and deliver market performance modeling to support data-driven decision-making efforts and work closely with executive leadership to identify KPIs, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the VP will lead initiatives to explore and integrate emerging technologies, fostering a forward-thinking environment that promotes creativity and innovation while delivering optimal return on investment.  This role is hybrid and will require the candidate to come into the Chicago office.

Who you are:

Strategic Leadership

  • Create strategies for incremental improvement across the agency, focusing on continuous enhancement of processes, products and services.
  • Design implementation & execution roadmaps for new analytics and innovation initiatives (scope, timelines, resource, milestones, etc.).  
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify opportunities for leveraging data and technology to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.

Analytics and Data Management

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive suite of data analytics products that provide actionable insights, predictive capabilities, and strategic value to the organization and its clients.
  • Identify and prioritize key features and functionalities for the data analytics product set, ensuring alignment with business needs and market demand.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics tools, including dashboards, reporting systems, and predictive models, ensuring they are user-friendly and deliver high-quality insights.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of complex data sets to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure the organization has robust data governance practices in place, maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Lead the development of advanced analytics models and tools to provide actionable insights and predictive capabilities.
  • Implement rigorous testing and data analysis techniques to continually refine and enhance strategies.

Innovation and Technology

  • Modernize the enterprise use of data and technology to foster growth with effective change management.  
  • Business Process Re-engineering, finding new ways to improve efficacy and efficiency.  
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends that could impact the agencies operations and competitive landscape.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to pilot and implement innovative solutions, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in performance marketing, fintech industry standards, and digital analytics to maintain a competitive edge.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing analytics and innovation team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging diverse perspectives and creative problem-solving.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and goals, regularly evaluating team and individual performance.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Leads partnerships with interagency groups and external vendors to deliver comprehensive best-in-class solutions.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and innovation initiatives to non-technical stakeholders, translating insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Work closely with various departments, including finance, media, creative and IT, to integrate analytics and innovation efforts across the agency.
  • Represent the agency at industry conferences, events, and forums, showcasing the agencies analytics and innovation capabilities.  
  • Provide regular, detailed reports and insights to both the agency leadership and the client, demonstrating the impact and effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field, with at least 5 years in leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data management, and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Experience in business systems design is strongly preferred.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Expertise in both data and technology program implementations.  
  • Expertise in building and evaluating attribution models.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for conferences, meetings, and partnership development.
  • Proven initiative in creating new business systems that deliver value without compromising existing operations by facilitating agile methodologies to recommend program optimization to leadership. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation & interpersonal skills with both internal and external audiences; proven ability to influence and provide thought leadership when working with executive leadership as well as internal and cross-functional teams. 
  • Applies problem analysis and problem-solving aptitude in delivering strategic recommendations.
  • Able to translate complex business requirements and create winning digital strategies that drive results. 
  • Exceptional project management skills. Demonstrates ability to prepare project plans, estimate project effort, and assist management with project budgets. 

 

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. $145,000 - $190,000 USD
