Job Title: Research and Innovation Intern

Job Status: full-time; 10 week internship

Work location: Hoboken, NJ; hybrid, 3 days in person required

Your role

As the Research & Innovation intern you will report to the R&D manager, developing reformulations, mostly for the TAZO brand. In that capacity you will be supporting claims, qualifying raw materials, formulation, building specifications, and implementing margin improvement initiatives.

The role includes building a strong partnership with our internal business partners, working closely with packaging, regulatory, quality, brand and supply chain teams. This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about beverages, product development, and the consumer goods industry to work on iconic brands.

Your key responsibilities:

You’re a passionate developer: You are passionate about product development and are able to design and deliver new products including costing, specification creation and product testing protocols. You possess sound basic knowledge of technical measurements and research methods and are able to analyze and interpret technical data, enjoy problem-solving and the R&D environment.

You’re a dot connector: You are a team player and are able to build strong relationships and participate actively within cross-functional teams.

You’re a story teller: You are an ambassador of your creations, communicating internally and externally the product’s story in an experiential, insightful and impactful way.

 Skills and experience:

  • Junior progressing into their senior year of continued studies
  • Majoring in Food Science or relevant scientific related field of study.
  • Possess basic technical knowledge of ingredient functionality, processing, nutrition, and legislation in foods.
  • Strong digital background in MS Office (Outlook, OneDrive, Excel),
  • SAP (Product Lifecycle Management), and other related specification systems is a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills within cross-functional teams and with outside customers.
  • Good project management, organizational skills, multi-tasking, and quick learning will enable success in this role.
