Role Overview: The Product Marketing Manager will report directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing and will play a critical role in driving growth, building product strategies, and expanding our market presence in the utility sector and beyond. This position involves understanding market trends, developing go-to-market strategies, creating compelling product messaging, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the expert on our buyers, who they are, how they buy, and their key buying criteria.
  • Understand and document our buyer’s journey and use this knowledge to drive sales and marketing strategies.
  • Stay informed about the competitive landscape and position our products effectively against competitors.
  • Develop and communicate product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target buyer personas and differentiates our products in the market.
  • Create and execute marketing plans for the products you support, including key activities and budgets to drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Plan and execute the launch of new products and releases, ensuring cross-functional alignment and successful implementation.
  • Support our sales channels by training them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users, developing internal tools and external collateral, and providing guidance on their use.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop innovative programs that drive demand and measure their effectiveness.
  • Act as the primary thought leader for the products you support, including speaking engagements and published content.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product marketing, preferably within the utility engineering and technology consulting sector.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong writing and presentation abilities.
  • Results-driven with a track record of successful product launches and feature rollouts.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in CRM, marketing automation, and sales tracking software.
  • Understanding of the utility industry and its unique challenges.
  • Experience with SaaS and complex product sales.
  • Responding to RFPs, RFIs, and complex procurement procedures.

EKN’s secure IT systems and private applicant information have not been compromised; scammers are impersonating EKN employees, using the company name and branding to mislead and engage potential job seekers in fake recruitment processes. Scammers might reference real job openings or describe fake opportunities that generally match individuals’ professional backgrounds, with the goal of establishing communication and eventually obtaining private financial information to defraud people. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Federal Trade Commission warn that employment scams such as this are a growing cyber threat. EKN urges anyone who is contacted about employment opportunities to exercise caution and know that:

  • All communication from EKN Engineering will be from an EKN employee using the @eknengineering.com email domain. We do not use third-party recruiters.
  • EKN Engineering recruiters will only schedule interviews for candidates who have applied for a position through our secure portal.
  • No corporate or IT systems at EKN are affected by this scam. The scammers are using EKN’s logo and employee names to impersonate the company.
