About the Role:
The Line Cook is a critical role as it will be responsible for food preparation within eko’s onsite commercial kitchen, which supports eko’s employee population, as well as food that is prepared for culinary photoshoots. The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience as frontline cook in a restaurant or professional kitchen. The Line Cook will be passionate about food quality and appearance, will focus on presentation and aesthetics, and will strive to meet quality and appearance standards.
What you will do:
- Cook and prepare a variety of foods according to guidelines, to support eko’s employee population
 - Create and cook a selection of meals to meet various dietary needs
 - Create a great employee experience through food
 - Cook and prepare a variety of foods that will be used in culinary photoshoots
 - Maintain a high of presentation standard to meet photoshoot requirements
 - Maintain and foster a positive kitchen culture
 - Maintain safe use of all kitchen equipment including knives
 - Strictly adhere to all food safety policies and procedures, and food storage regulations
 - Maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitary kitchen
 
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience as a line cook in a restaurant or other commercial kitchen, preferably with experience in presentation
 - Passionate about internal hospitality and supporting a positive culture
 - Keen eye and strong attention to detail
 - Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
 - Ability to work extended shifts as necessary to support culinary photoshoots
 - Food Handlers Certification
 
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
 - Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects frequently (typically up to 50 lbs).
 - Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach regularly.
 - Visual acuity to read labels, packing slips, product literature, computer screens, and to inspect goods for defects.
 - Ability to work in a kitchen environment which includes exposure to varying temperatures and noise.
 
Work Environment:
- This position operates primarily within a factory setting
 - The noise level can range from moderate to loud
 - Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles (e.g. forklifts, trucks)
 - Be able to work Monday - Friday, hours 7:00am - 3:00pm or 8:00am - 4:00pm

This position pays a rate of $21.00 per hour. All hourly rates meet or exceed applicable state and federal minimum wage laws. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state law.
