Product Lifecycle Management Specialist

Manassas, VA

About Electra

At Electra, we’re building the EL9 — a nine-passenger, hybrid-electric aircraft that takes off and lands in 150 feet. Our Ultra Short technology unlocks thousands of new operating locations and enables what we call Direct Aviation: quiet, point-to-point regional travel that gets people from where they are to where they want to go, without the congestion of major airports or the noise of conventional aviation.

A global company, headquartered in Manassas, VA, Electra is backed by Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, and Safran, has filed for FAA Part 23 type certification, and carries 2,000+ intent to purchase from operators worldwide. We’re a team of ~100 people moving fast toward first EL9 test flights in 2027 and certification by late 2029 or 2030. Every hire matters at this stage — and this role is no exception.

The Role

As our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Specialist, you'll own configuration management and product lifecycle management across Electra. That means maintaining the integrity of our engineering data and hardware configurations, administering and evolving our Siemens Teamcenter environment, and building the integrations that connect PLM to the rest of our enterprise systems - CAD, wiring design, MES, and ERP.

This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role. You'll report directly into engineering leadership, interface regularly with senior leadership, and play a direct role in our path to certification. You'll also manage contracted PLM resources - translating Electra's functional requirements into work packages, driving contractor performance, and delivering results on the timeline the program demands.

What You'll Do

  • Lead PLM implementation activities, including interfacing with contracted PLM resources and converting Electra's functional requirements into clearly scoped work for implementation specialists
  • Drive contractor performance to accelerate feature delivery; directly execute PLM adjustments to workflows, user groups, and applications where needed
  • Deliver the integration of Capital with Teamcenter, either directly or through contracted resources
  • Perform IT activities required to support PLM implementation and ongoing maintenance
  • Support users in troubleshooting issues and adding new capability into the PLM system quickly and effectively
  • Provide regular updates to engineering leadership and Electra Senior Leadership on PLM progress, blockers, and resource needs
  • Develop and implement configuration management procedures that unify program-level policy with PLM system capability
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all system configurations, including version control, change request management, and configuration audit support
  • Guide requirements generation for MES and MRP systems and manage their integration into a cohesive enterprise data environment in partnership with Electra's One Data Source team
  • Develop onboarding documentation and training for new users to reduce ramp-up time
  • Set up automated monitoring of PLM systems and license usage
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, program leadership, suppliers, and certification leads to ensure configuration is managed effectively across the organization

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in PLM system administration, maintenance, and architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter and NX
  • Deep knowledge of PLM and Configuration Management principles applied in an aerospace engineering context
  • Experience initializing, upgrading, and extending PLM environments, including integration with CAD, wiring design tools, MES, and ERP systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage PLM contractors and a network of external experts to deliver results
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • US Person (Citizen or Permanent Resident) required

Bonus Points

  • Experience with PLM systems used in FAA Part 23 or Part 25 certification programs
  • Deep familiarity with ERP and MES systems that integrate with Teamcenter
  • Past success integrating Capital into a Teamcenter PLM environment

This range reflects the anticipated hiring range across all eligible locations; actual compensation is determined based on your relevant experience, skills, and geographic location. Total compensation includes performance bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Compensation Range

$130,000 - $160,000 USD

What We Offer

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
