
Project Controls Manager

What you will do:
Project Controls Manager position leads the management of cost and schedule functions for the execution of Electra’s projects. This position reports functionally to the VP of Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost
- Develop and implement project cost control systems, procedures, and reporting systems to control the flow of funds for capital projects.
- Manage the cost management system.
- Set up a new project in the cost management system and budgets for projects.
- Facilitate funding approval.
- Review Purchase Orders and manage Invoice Processing for payment through the finance department.
- Manage Change Management and Progress Measurement process.
- Generates and manages cost reports with accurate and timely information on budget, commitments, forecasts, trends, trends, variances, progress, performance, risk and opportunity, contingency, and cash flow.
- Monitors costs against agreed-upon budgets and contractual deliverables within the project.
Schedule
- Lead interactive planning sessions with various functional teams to support schedule development.
- Develops and maintains Project Schedules and Basis of Schedule.
- Interface with Contractors for reviewing and monitoring contractor’s schedules for integration with the Overall Project Schedule.
- Analyze schedules, review delays, and propose schedule recovery alternatives.
- Develops look ahead analysis and is responsible for regular progress reporting.
- Must be able to do proper forecasting, analyze schedule performance variances against the plan and communicate the reasons and proposed mitigation plan.
- Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
What we need you to bring to the team:
- BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 15+ plus years of experience in cost and scheduling of process industry projects or related
- Strong business acumen and judgment in developing project schedules and budgets
- Ability to develop relationships in a multifunctional team including engineers, project managers, finance professionals, and third-party contractors.
- Experience with various Cost systems, Oracle Primavera P6, or Oracle Primavera Cloud is beneficial.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct comprehensive cost and schedule analysis, assessment, and evaluation of reporting activities and to identify issues.
- Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills.
- Genuine intellectual curiosity and passion for executing projects in the energy transition space.
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $170,000- $195,000 a year, but it may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education.
