The Opportunity

We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Sales Engineer to bridge the gap between engineering expertise and business development. This role plays a critical part in helping customers identify the right electrical power solutions while supporting EPD's sales growth initiatives. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, building customer relationships, and contributing to innovative electrical projects, this opportunity is for you.

What You'll Do

Technical Sales & Customer Support

  • Engage with customers to understand project requirements and technical specifications.
  • Recommend customized UL-891 switchboard and power distribution solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process.
  • Support customer meetings, facility visits, conference calls, and project discussions.

Proposal Development & RFQ Management

  • Collaborate with Estimating and Engineering teams to develop accurate technical proposals and quotations.
  • Manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and ensure timely customer responses.
  • Assist with preliminary one-line diagrams, elevations, and technical documentation.
  • Review customer purchase orders to ensure alignment with proposals and project requirements.

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Identify new sales opportunities through prospecting, market research, and customer outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, distributors, consultants, and end users.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Support contract negotiations and project handoff activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Project Management, and Sales teams.
  • Provide technical support throughout project development and execution.
  • Share market intelligence and customer feedback to support business strategy.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, estimating, or electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems and switchgear products.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with CRM and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Experience with UL-891 switchboards and power distribution equipment.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, EPIC CPQ, and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of NEC, UL, and industry electrical standards.
