The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Industrial Engineer to join our Continuous Improvement Team. This role is responsible for evaluating, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency across EPD’s electrical equipment manufacturing operations. What You'll Do:

Process Improvement & Manufacturing Optimization

Analyze production workflows, labor utilization, cycle times, and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Conduct time studies, value stream mapping, and workflow analyses to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Design and implement process improvements utilizing Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
Support validation of process improvements through pilot testing and performance monitoring.

Data Analysis & Performance Management

Collect, analyze, and interpret production and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, cost, and safety.
Utilize ERP systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms to support operational decision-making.
Develop reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.

Project Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to support manufacturing initiatives and project execution.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and tracking improvement projects to ensure successful implementation.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and continuous improvement activities.
Support resource planning, task management, and project status reporting.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company standards, safety requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
Conduct safety and ergonomic assessments to identify and reduce workplace risks.
Support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Assist with audits, process reviews, and compliance documentation.

Training & Employee Support

Train and coach employees on process changes, Lean principles, and standardized work procedures.
Provide technical support and guidance related to process improvements and operational best practices.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement throughout the organization.

What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or manufacturing operations.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience conducting time studies, workflow analysis, and value stream mapping.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to collaborate across departments and build strong working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Experience working in electrical equipment manufacturing or engineered-to-order production environments.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as Global Shop Solutions.
Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification.
Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) certification.
