Test Specialist
Provides software testing experience (integration and acceptance). Designs and executes IT software tests and evaluates results to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Prepare test scripts and all required test documentation. Designs and prepares all test data needed. Analyzes internal security within systems. Reviews test results and evaluate for conformance to design.
Responsibilities Include:
- Test Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts based on software requirements and specifications.
- Execute manual and automated tests to verify functionality, performance, and integration.
- Perform end-to-end testing, including integration, system, regression, and acceptance testing
- DoD Compliance & Security Testing
- Ensure all testing processes comply with DoD standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements.
- Conduct security and compliance testing in line with DoD guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for DoD certification and accreditation
- Defect Management
- Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools. (e.g. JIRA)
- Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and verify fixes
- Test Automation
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Continuously update and improve automated testing practices
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure thorough testing coverage.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress, results, and issues.
- Mentor and collaborate with other testers and promote best practices
- Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate and recommend new testing tools and technologies.
- Implement process improvements to optimize testing efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends and DoD-specific testing methodologies
Basic Qualifications:
- Five (5) years relevant experience
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
- Undergraduate Degree Preferred.
- Experience with Defense Programs Preferred.
- Must be able to obtain or currently possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3)
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Experience with DoD software testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD-883, DoD 5000.01).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and DT&E frameworks
- Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Postman).
- Knowledge of security testing and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FIPS).
- Ability to work in a regulated, security-conscious environment.
- Experience in computer software development and testing software applications, including system, regression, acceptance, end to end, performance, and automation testing.
- Knowledge developing and maintaining test cases using designated automated test tools.
Pay Range
$75,000 - $80,000 USD
