We are seeking an Inside Sales Intern who will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales activities of Element AVITI instruments, consumables and services. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about getting experience and exposure to commercial teams, help prospect from a wide variety of sources, and to identify the owner of these qualified opportunities. This internship will also provide opportunities to develop soft-skills as well as meet with Leaders across the organization to learn about their careers and gain insights on how to navigate your early career decisions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Learn the customer sales process through phone, e-mail, web/remote conferencing, and limited on-site visits to promote and further develop Element business
  • Work with other commercial teams to learn how to prospect and qualify sales leads from a wide variety of sources, to identify the owner of these qualified opportunities, and to route these in Salesforce to the appropriate sales lead
  • Support sales targets for instrument sales, sequencing consumables, and related services at the time of new capital purchase(s) and through the lifetime of the instrument
  • Assist in managing all inbound/outbound communication with customers: This includes but is not limited to: lead qualification from events, marketing campaigns and prospecting customer lists; coordinating with internal resources (field sales, field application scientists, product management, commercial leadership) to address customer questions and objections; identifying potential upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and driving increased instrument utilization through the life of the product
  • Assist the current Sr Inside Sales Representatives in building a strong, positive, and productive relationship with customers and individuals within the organization
  • Learn the Salesforce CRM database to help build accurate lead qualification, funnel management and forecasting in a timely and complete manner, while maximizing productivity during key selling time

Education and Experience:

  • Junior or Senior year student in Bachelor/Master degree program in Biology/Molecular Biology/Genetics or a related field of study – Advanced Degrees are a plus
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Candidate must be comfortable with conducting presentations effectively and professionally to customers/peers/management

Base Compensation Pay Range:
