Business Systems Analyst – NetSuite

San Diego - Headquarters

At Element Biosciences, we are passionate about our mission to empower the scientific community with more freedom and flexibility to accelerate our collective impact on humanity. We have built a highly efficient product-driven organization where employees can learn, grow, and thrive in a challenging but encouraging environment. We are committed to scientific integrity, collegiality, honesty, objectivity, and openness.

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Systems Analyst (NetSuite) to be the hands-on administrator of our NetSuite environment and a key member of the core IT team supporting business systems at Element Biosciences. The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced environment and is passionate about aligning system functionality with the needs of the business. In this role you will build, configure, troubleshoot, and improve NetSuite, working directly with Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and other stakeholders to turn business needs into well-defined requirements and working solutions. You will deliver primarily through hands-on work, partnering with our offshore NetSuite developers and third-party consultants, and you will help drive AI adoption across our business systems. While your primary focus will be NetSuite, you will also support projects spanning our CRM (Salesforce), integration, data, and analytics platforms, as well as our PLM and MES systems. This role will report to the Manager, Business Systems and will be an onsite role at our headquarters in San Diego, CA.

If you possess the following and want to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to explore this role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Administer and configure NetSuite, including roles and permissions, custom records and fields, forms, workflows (SuiteFlow), saved searches, reports, and dashboards
  • Own NetSuite functionality across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, manufacturing/work orders, WMS, and financials
  • Troubleshoot production issues and data problems, including root-cause analysis of failed or stuck transactions (e.g., sales orders, purchase requests, shipments)
  • Support NetSuite integrations with Salesforce, MES, and Snowflake in partnership with the integration engineer, including field mappings, record requirements, and error resolution
  • Deliver enhancements through our sprint and CAB (change advisory board) process: gather requirements, estimate, build and test in sandbox, document, and deploy
  • Partner with our 3rd party NetSuite developers by providing clear, detailed requirements, and test and review their work to ensure high quality
  • Support the Manager, Business Systems in managing third-party NetSuite consultants and vendors reviewing the quality of deliverables, and in leading larger implementations (e.g., NetSuite WMS, Avalara AvaTax), keeping consultants and cross-functional teams aligned on clear action items and deadlines
  • Ensure system configurations, workflows, and access controls adhere to corporate compliance and security frameworks, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley), ISO 27001, and ISO 13485, with audit trail integrity and segregation of duties
  • Drive AI adoption and implementation within business systems, identifying opportunities to apply AI tools to accelerate development, documentation, testing, and end-user support
  • Manage NetSuite sandbox refreshes, regression testing, and readiness for NetSuite’s biannual releases
  • Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and user guides
  • Provide cross-system support and backup for Salesforce, Boomi integrations, and Tableau/Snowflake reporting, including business process analysis, data validation, and system evaluations

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience, with 3+ years of business systems experience
  •  2+ years of NetSuite experience, including hands-on NetSuite administration, customization, and troubleshooting in a production environment
  • Comfortable building and debugging in NetSuite yourself (workflows, scripts, saved searches, SQL/SuiteQL, CSV imports), not only coordinating the work of others
  • Experience supporting NetSuite integrations with other systems (e.g., Salesforce, Boomi, MES)
  • Experience writing clear, detailed requirements and working with developers or consultants, with the ability to test and validate delivered work
  • Strong grasp of business workflows across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality, with the ability to trace an issue across systems to root cause
  • Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating at all levels of the organization and with external vendors
  • Experience working in a SOX, ISO 27001, or ISO 13485 compliant environment is a plus
  • NetSuite certifications (SuiteFoundation, Administrator, ERP Consultant, SuiteCloud Developer), Jira/Agile experience, and familiarity with Salesforce, Boomi, Snowflake, MES, PLM, or QMS systems are a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be flexible in working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours

Location:

  • San Diego – on-site

Travel:

  • Up to 5% (if any)

Job Type:

  • Full-time, Exempt

Base Compensation Pay Range:

  • $97,000 - $118,000

In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.

Please note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
