Why This Role Matters
The Associate Closer plays a key role in ensuring that every loan is prepared for closing accurately, compliantly, and on time. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized pipeline, generating compliant Closing Disclosures, and partnering closely with internal teams and settlement agents to ensure a seamless closing experience. Your work helps prevent delays, reduces risk, and supports exceptional borrower satisfaction.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Review loan files to identify outstanding items required for closing.
Generate accurate Closing Disclosures (CDs) for borrowers and settlement agents at least three days before closing in accordance with CFPB requirements.
Communicate with settlement agents to confirm closing costs and outstanding items needed to finalize the loan.
Maintain an organized and updated closing pipeline.
Collaborate with Processors, Processing Team Leads, and Underwriters to meet and exceed team goals.
Stay up to date on Federal and State regulations, agency guidelines, and industry standards.
Ensure full compliance with AFR policies and all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support team and organizational goals.

🎯 What You Bring

Required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing CDs and reviewing documentation.
Ability to manage multiple closing timelines while staying organized and proactive.
Clear and professional communication skills with internal and external partners.
Commitment to compliance and quality control.

Preferred
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience in mortgage closing or related operations.
Familiarity with Encompass or similar LOS tools.

📆 A Day in the Life

Review and update your closing pipeline throughout the day.
Prepare Closing Disclosures and confirm all fees with settlement agents.
Verify outstanding items with processors, underwriters, and other departments.
Balance fees and ensure the closing package is accurate and compliant.
Communicate updates with borrowers, settlement agents, and internal teams.
Support overall closing workflow and contribute to a smooth loan experience.
