Test Engineer - Electromechanical Systems Integration

What you will do:

You will join a highly motivated team that is in the initial stages of creating a testing environment within Eleo. As our test engineer you will be responsible for building and delivering tests that are requested by the engineering groups. You will report to our Test Lead. You will be involved with the development progress within engineering domains and advise on testing activities and planning. As a test engineer you will be preparing, executing, and reporting on test activities both for internal and external testing. This does include preparation of the test setup, which will require hands-on skills. You will give recommendations on findings from the test to engineering and perform initial root cause analysis when required.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be collaborating between testing, engineering, quality, and production teams, supporting planning & logistics with external test locations, preparing test setups, data analysis of logged test data, writing test plans & test reports 

We are looking for an experienced test engineer who has a strong grasp of system integration and testing, strong electrical / mechanical experience is a plus.

Your key responsibilities:  

  • Test Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross functional teams to define test objectives, methodologies, and strategies in test case templates. 
  • Test Plan Creation: Design detailed test plans encompassing the test cases from cross functional teams to validate product requirements and specifications. 
  • Test Execution: Implement test protocols, conduct hands-on testing, and analyze results to identify defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement. 
  • Root Cause analysis: Execute preliminary steps of a root cause analysis as an input to the issue management when (potential) issues are found and report out via the issue management. 
  • Data Analysis: Utilize statistical methods and data analysis techniques to interpret test results, generate reports, and provide insights to inform decision-making. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D engineers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals to facilitate communication and drive alignment on testing objectives and outcomes. 
  • Prototype Evaluation: Evaluate prototypes and proof-of-concept designs to assess feasibility, performance, and adherence to design specifications. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance testing methodologies, tools, and processes to optimize product quality, reliability, and time-to-market. 
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, procedures, results, and issues encountered throughout the testing lifecycle. 

 

Requirements & qualifications:

  • Technical background at BSc or MSc level, your affinity for details, technical skills and communication skills are our priority 
  • Deep understanding of integration and how testing can improve system integration 
  • Python experience would be extremely useful 
  • Experience in testing; experience in battery testing is a preference 
  • Fluency in English 
  • Analytical and solution oriented 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others 
  • Driven and motivated to develop skills and experience
