Product Compliance and Safety Lead  

What you will do:

At Eleo - Yanmar, you'll play a Leading role in ensuring that our cutting-edge products meet global regulations. Dive into the dynamic world of off-highway electrification, where every day presents an exciting challenge as regulations continue to evolve. As our new Product Compliance Lead, you'll not only assess the state-of-the-art but actively engage with industry associations like RECHARGE to implement new legislation.

Whilst this role requires expert knowledge of standards and compliance regulations, we also anticipate our new Lead will bring extensive people skills, be able to demonstrate leadership, guidance and motivation to our electrification compliance team covering both Eleo battery and Yanmar e-powertrains.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Developing a robust compliance and safety environment across Eleo & Yanmar electrification and leading on topics that are relevant, being the face of Eleo at industry events and compliance and regulatory gatherings.
  • Designing the foundation of our compliance structure in both process and activity, building the responsibilities into our team and delivering a cohesive and collaborative way of working across Eleo and Yanmar in Product Compliance and Product Safety.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive regulatory overview tailored to different global regions and applications such as agricultural & construction markets in Europe, North America and Japan/Korea by active participation in industry associations
  • Reporting to our CTO you will be meticulous in detail and able to communicate openly and accurately, as a strong negotiator and trusted expert.
  • Evaluating potential new applications and customer requests with a keen eye on compliance.
  • Educating Eleo and Yanmar colleagues on applicable standards and how to be compliant with the regulations.
  • Coordinating homologation testing with our dedicated testing team and certification/testing & notifying bodies.
  • Ensuring all documentation and certificates are organized and up-to-date.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging product regulations and industry trends.

Requirements & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of the global product compliance landscape.
  • Established industry and governing body relationships and network such as prior participation to RECHARGE association.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in product compliance, homologation, or testing, preferably related to battery/electrification in off-highway applications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Exceptional leadership and people skills, prover record for leading international team.
  • Proficient in both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to create structure and convey complex information effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel and participate in industry conventions and association events as well as ability to be in the Eleo HQ office (hybrid).
