Employees who are able to perform the essential functions of their jobs away from an Elevations location may do so with the expectation that they are onsite at least fifty percent of the time over a two-week pay period.
Summary/Objective:
The Business Development Specialist will expand and enhance Elevations Credit Union’s Select Employer Group (SEG) presence and impact. The successful candidate will partner with the Business Development team in implementing sales development plans designed to align to and deliver business outcomes within the SEG space. Additionally, the Business Development Specialist will represent Elevations Credit Union within its field of membership, including projects that support reputation-building, business development, organizational corporate social responsibility and financial wellness.
Essential Functions include:
- Supports the Business Development team in implementing strategies to increase membership and product penetration.
- Unlocks business opportunities with ECU prospects and existing members by continuously scanning the horizon and responding to marketplace observations. The Business Development Specialist will independently and autonomously seek out and act upon these opportunities.
- Communicates professionally and persuasively within the organization and to external groups.
- Co-manages SEG relationships (from prospecting, to onboarding, to deepening) in partnership with ECU Retail, Mortgage, Wealth Management, and Business Banking teams. The Business Development Specialist will have a concentrated focus on lead generation and new member acquisition with a strategic hand-off to in-branch and Contact Center ECU teams for account opening, account maintenance and cross-sell opportunities.
- Represents the credit union at SEG-related open enrollments, expos, business presentations and seminars.
- Acts as a steward of credit union and plays a significant role in bringing the Elevations brand to life in assigned communities.
- Helps deliver compelling and relevant financial wellness seminars, programs and content that establish Elevation as a resource in the Employer Group Segment and community.
- Executes assigned projects and collaborates across departments in an effective, professional manner.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all credit union products, services, and programs.
- Attends strategic business functions, chamber/business after hours events, grand openings, etc.

Required Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing or equivalent work experience.
- 2-4 years business development or outside sales experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts are important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.
- Ability to deliver sales presentations and speak effectively in front of groups.
Work Environment:
Elevations uses multi-factor authentication to keep our data safe. As such, a personal smartphone is a requirement for employment with us. This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Compensation Information:
The person hired into this position will likely earn between $33.92 and $48.08 per hour, plus annual bonus.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
