Must have Skills : PowerEdge Rack/Tower and Vmware - vSphere
Project Tasks:
• The ideal resident will have a strong PowerEdge infrastructure background combined with solid VMware experience particularly with exposure to migration environments.
• While the individual servers are not inherently complex, the engagement involves a large-scale infrastructure transition from legacy HP servers to a Dell PowerEdge environment, with the Dell delivery team responsible for the deployment and implementation of over 300 systems. The primary challenge lies in the scale, coordination, and day 2 operational impact of executing this high-volume rollout within an active enterprise environment.
• OpenManage Enterprise (OME) experience is highly preferred, including:
o Deployment and implementation
o Managing large-scale environments
• The migration landscape includes:
o Primarily VMware-to-VMware migrations (vSphere 7 on legacy HP infrastructure to newer vSphere environments)
o Some Hyper-V to VMware migrations, managed by a separate subcontractor team
• Scope of the resident role:
o Provide infrastructure support, guidance, and stability throughout the deployment and migration effort
o Maintain awareness of migration activities and processes, but not serve as the primary executor
o Support the environment and assist as needed, without being responsible for leading migrations
• Overall, the resource should be able to:
o Operate effectively in a large, complex enterprise environment
o Support a high-visibility, large-scale deployment
o Demonstrate familiarity with migration tools, methods, and challenges
Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$90,000-110,000
