Eliot is seeking a dynamic Jail Diversion Coordinator to join our team. This role works in partnership with the Police Department to support individuals, including adults, adolescents, children, and families that are experiencing mental health and substance use challenges, with the goal of diverting them from the criminal justice system to appropriate treatment services. The ideal candidate will have experience within the criminal justice system and a strong ability to build meaningful relationships with providers, stakeholders, law enforcement, and family members.
Responsibilities:
- Provide recovery-oriented, culturally competent support through empowerment, side-by-side interventions, co-responses with law enforcement, and development of individualized action plans and safety plans
- Build and maintain a strong referral network with police departments and community providers to divert individuals from the criminal justice system into appropriate mental health and substance use treatment
- Promote health, wellness, and community integration by supporting access to resources, encouraging engagement, and reducing stigma through education
- Uphold therapeutic boundaries, consumer dignity, and agency policies, including confidentiality, human rights, and mandatory reporting of abuse or neglect
- Maintain required certifications, participate in ongoing training, and provide crisis support and on-call services as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all consumers
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field
- Experience with the criminal justice system and adults with severe mental illness
- Valid Massachusetts Drivers License
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Annual Salary
$60,000 - $65,000 USD
