The NAN Project, a division of Eliot, is seeking a Peer Coordinator to join their team of positive, service oriented individuals. The NAN Project is a mental health awareness and suicide prevention program for young adults. This position requires the individual to coordinate and provide unwavering support to peers in our community of schools. 

Responsibilities:

  • Build connections in the Everett area by engaging with schools and youth-serving organizations, promoting The NAN Project’s mission
  • Recruit and train peer mentors, encouraging individuals with lived mental health experience to share their stories of hope and resilience in both English and Spanish
  • Actively reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and educate students about mental health challenges and recovery
  • Collaborate with peer mentors to present engaging lessons on mental health challenges and resilience in classrooms across Everett and Greater Boston.
  • Provide strength-based feedback on peer mentors' stories and presentations
  • Facilitate training and team-building activities for peer mentors, and prepare content and materials for workshops, trainings, presentations, or events.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree or equivalent. 
  • Experience as a peer mentor and/or experience working with transition age youth, especially around suicide prevention and mental health education
  • Valid Massachusetts drivers license

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Annual Salary

$70,000 - $70,000 USD
