The Family Networks Education Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting families and ensuring their child’s educational rights and needs are met within school systems. This position serves as a key liaison amongst DCF, schools, and families. The Family Networks Education Coordinator advocates for appropriate educational services, facilitates IEP processes, and supports smooth transitions for children re-entering educational settings from out-of-home placements.
The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable and collaborative professional with experience navigating school systems and special education, who can advocate effectively for children, partner with families and providers, and apply a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to ensuring positive educational outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, LEAs, and education partners.
- Advocate for and negotiate IEPs, mediations, and educational services for children involved with DCF.
- Support school re-entry and placement decisions, ensuring compliance with education laws and DCF protocols.
- Provide consultation and case management on education-related issues, including special education and disciplinary concerns.
- Collaborate with families, social workers, and education surrogate parents to ensure continuity of services.
- Collect and maintain educational records, reports, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Deliver training and consultation to DCF staff, schools, and providers on educational policies and practices.
- Participate in statewide/regional education meetings and contribute to system-level improvements.
- Uphold compliance with ECHS policies, HIPAA, and all state/federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Significant experience with school systems, special education, and child welfare.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation.
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm. Hybrid Schedule, 3 days in Haverhill office.
Annual Salary
$55,000 - $55,000 USD
