Director of Training and Development
JOB SUMMARY
Elite’s Director of Learning and Development will lead the design and implementation of the Company’s comprehensive learning and development program strategy. The Director of Learning and Development will lead and support a team of learning professionals and trainers to ensure the effective delivery of training initiatives as evidenced by the competencies of the receiving team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and implementation of the organization’s learning and development strategy

- Develop and drive the vision for training programs that enhance both technical and soft skills across clinical and non-clinical staff
- Ensure that all content necessary to drive business objectives is addressed in training programs, including but not limited to specialized content on office management, customer service, leadership, clinical operations, and Dentrix Ascend
- Ensure that Dentrix Ascend training initiatives are integrated into broader learning strategies and tailored to various levels of proficiency and job roles
- Oversee the creation and deployment of training programs focused on Dentrix Ascend, clinical operations, office management, customer service, leadership, and other key areas
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design role-specific content, including workflows, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques for Dentrix Ascend users
- Use blended learning methodologies (e-Learning, instructor-led training, on-the-job training, etc.) to ensure training programs are effective and scalable across multiple locations
- Work closely with IT, operations, and clinical teams to stay current with updates and new features within Dentrix Ascend, ensuring that training materials reflect the latest advancements
- Lead efforts to ensure that all staff are proficient in utilizing Dentrix Ascend and other digital tools to streamline operations and improve patient care
- Manage and mentor a team of learning professionals and trainers to ensure the effective delivery of training initiatives
- Develop and implement team growth strategies to ensure that learning professionals are equipped with the latest industry knowledge, instructional techniques, and technology
- Cultivate a learning culture within the organization that values continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing, and professional development
- Partner with senior leadership, department heads, and clinical teams to assess learning needs and ensure that training programs are aligned with organizational goals and operational priorities
- Engage with clinical, operations, and HR teams to identify emerging needs, gaps in skills, and opportunities for improvement in training delivery and content
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, offering insights on best practices and emerging trends in learning and development
- Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs, using data to assess learning outcomes, program ROI, and employee engagement
- Collect feedback from learners, managers, and other stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and relevance of training programs
- Monitor post-training performance, competencies, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that employees apply learning effectively in their roles
- Partner with Compliance to ensure all learning programs comply with relevant regulations, such as HIPAA, OSHA, and state-specific dental licensing requirements
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and emerging trends to keep training programs current and aligned with evolving standards in dental practice management
- Other duties as reasonably assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training and Development, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field (a Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role, ideally in a healthcare or dental services environment
- Experience with Dentrix Ascend or other dental practice management software is highly preferred
- Proven track record of designing and delivering training programs (experience in training various types of staff and or clinical staff is preferred)
- Experience in managing and developing teams of instructional designers, trainers, or other learning professionals
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training delivery methods
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze training needs and design effective solutions
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and eLearning platforms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, and clinical operations
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and creativity in problem-solving
- Willingness to travel to various office locations as needed
