Communications Manager

USA (EST)

About EllieMD

EllieMD is on a mission to revolutionize healthcare by empowering individuals with pharmaceutical-grade products and a network of dedicated brand partners. We believe healthcare should be accessible, transparent, and built on trust. Inspired by the wisdom, strength, and nurturing nature of elephants, our name reflects our commitment to care, integrity, and empowerment—ensuring that our customers, partners, and community feel supported, valued, and protected.

As a member of our team, you’ll help bring this mission to life by upholding our values of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. We’re looking for individuals who take pride in delivering high-quality experiences and who thrive in a fast-moving, innovative environment.

Position Overview

EllieMD is seeking a Communications Manager. The Communications Manager is the "Voice of the Brand." You will be responsible for crafting and managing all written touchpoints between our company, our customers, and our independent distributors. This role requires a blend of high-level content strategy and meticulous execution. You will own the email and SMS lifecycles, ensuring every message is on-brand, high-conversion, and compliant with telehealth standards.

As our Communications Manager, you are the storyteller for a brand at the forefront of the longevity revolution. You will have the creative freedom to define how we talk about life-changing treatments while building the communication infrastructure for a rapidly growing national platform.

What You’ll Do:

30-60-90 Day Plan:

  • Days 1–30 (The Immersion): Master and help define the EllieMD voice. Review 6 months of past email/SMS performance. Take over the daily QA of email messaging, social captions, and Spanish translations.
  • Days 31–60 (The Ownership): Draft and deploy a full 30-day Email/SMS calendar. Write a key automated "customer journeys" (Post-Purchase) to improve conversion and compliance. Familiarize with Product Launch materials and Campaigns.
  • Days 61–90 (The Expansion): Lead writing of emails and collateral for a new product launch. Ensure the brand voice remains 100% consistent and compliant across all channels without the Director’s line-by-line editing. Own the communications calendar (email, sms, collab with social)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Omni-Channel Content Strategy: Develop and maintain a 90-day rolling content calendar for Email, SMS, and Push notifications.
  • Expert Copywriting: Lead the writing for all marketing campaigns, product launches (Peptides, GLP-1s, Longevity supplements), and automated customer journeys.
  • Distributor Communications: Craft the "Internal Voice" for our distributor network. You will write the newsletters, scripts, and training materials that empower our field to sell effectively.
  • Compliance & QA: Act as the final editorial eye for all marketing collateral. You will ensure that Spanish translations and social captions align perfectly with the core brand message.
  • Lifecycle Marketing: Analyze email performance (open rates, CTR) and iterate on subject lines and CTA strategies to improve ROI.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with the Brand Designers to ensure the "Words" and the "Visuals" are perfectly synced for every launch.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in Communications, Copywriting, or Content Marketing. Experience in Telehealth, Pharma, or Direct Sales is highly preferred.
  • The "EllieMD" Voice: Ability to write in a tone that is "Premium, Clinical, yet Accessible." You should understand the balance of scientific credibility and lifestyle aspiration.
  • Strategic Thinking: You don't just write emails; you understand how an email fits into a larger multi-step sales funnel.
  • Meticulous Editor: You have a "zero-mistake" policy for grammar, tone, and compliance.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Email Service Providers (ESPs) like Brevo or Mailchimp, and project management tools like Linear.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in startups, healthcare, health-tech, or wellness industries.
  • Experience working with regulated industries (HIPAA, FDA, healthcare compliance).
  • Experience in Telehealth, Pharma, or Direct Sales is highly preferred.
  • Spanish Language Proficiency or experience managing localized global campaigns.

Who You Are:

  • A master storyteller who understands that healthcare is deeply personal and crafts every message with empathy and authority.
  • A "Compliance Hawk" with a zero-mistake policy; you take pride in protecting the brand from legal and reputational risk.
  • Strategically minded—you don’t just write emails; you map out the psychological journey of a customer from lead to lifelong advocate.
  • A "Human-to-Human" writer who can translate complex peptide science into premium, accessible lifestyle content.
  • Disciplined and deadline-driven; you can manage a high-volume content calendar while maintaining a high bar for excellence.
  • Collaborative but firm; you can provide constructive feedback to ensure the brand voice is never diluted.
  • A "deadline-first" strategist who maintains extreme editorial precision under pressure; you can churn out high-quality, compliant copy on a dime when a new growth opportunity or distributor need arises.
  • Aligned with EllieMD’s core values: Accountability, Collaboration, Excellence, Integrity, and Care.

Compensation & Structure:

  • Contract Role: Starting as a 1099 contractor.
  • Future Conversion: Planned transition to full-time W2 in 2026.
  • Compensation: $135,000 (commensurate with experience).
  • Benefits: Planned upon full-time conversion.

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
