Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance

Location: Santa Clara, CA (4 days onsite)
Compensation: $140,000-$165,000

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance to lead key areas of our legal and compliance function as we scale. This role will focus on product compliance, regulatory monitoring, and enterprise legal governance, while supporting vendor and partner contracting.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role requiring strong legal judgment and practical business partnering. You will work closely with Product, Information Security, Partnership, Finance & HR, and Operations to enable business velocity while maintaining a strong compliance and governance foundation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive a product compliance framework aligned with customer commitments, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and interpret the evolving regulatory landscape, including privacy such as CCPA, TCPA, GLBA, telephony regulations, and emerging AI frameworks
  • Establish and manage legal governance frameworks, including contract playbooks, approval matrices, and a legal risk register
  • Implement compliance tracking mechanisms to ensure contractual and regulatory obligations are monitored and met
  • Lead review and negotiation of vendor contracts and partner agreements
  • Advise on key legal terms including liability, indemnity, privacy, data security, and regulatory commitments
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical guidance for cross-functional teams
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure legal obligations are clearly understood, tracked, and escalated when needed
  • Manage and coordinate with outside counsel on specialized matters

Key Requirements

  • 8+ years of legal experience with a focus on commercial contracting, compliance, privacy, or technology/regulatory advisory
  • Strong experience reviewing and negotiating vendor and partner agreements
  • Experience supporting product compliance, privacy, data protection, or regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with TCPA, GLBA, privacy regulations, telephony regulations, or similar compliance domains
  • Experience working with financial institutions or credit unions is a strong plus
  • Strong ability to balance risk management with business pragmatism
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a SaaS, fintech, or regulated technology environment working with Credit Unions or Financial institutions
  • Familiarity with AI governance and emerging regulatory frameworks
  • Experience building legal playbooks, compliance frameworks, or governance processes
