Location: Onsite in Santa Clara, CA (Monday-Thursday)
Compensation: $200,000-$220,000 (Base)

About the Role

Eltropy is hiring a Director of Design to lead the evolution of our Agentic AI platform into an AI-native, agent-driven system.

This is not a traditional UX role. You will redefine how products are built by shifting from screens and flows to AI-powered workflows, automation, and human and AI collaboration.

You will partner closely with Product and Engineering, lead a team of 5 designers in India, and work directly with customers to design solutions grounded in real-world workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Design Strategy and Leadership

  • Define and drive design strategy aligned with an AI-native product vision

  • Elevate design from execution to a core product and decision-making function

  • Build simple, intuitive experiences for complex financial workflows

  • Own and evolve the design system across products

AI-First Product Leadership

  • Lead the shift from UI-driven design to AI-native experiences including agents, copilots, and automation

  • Define how AI shows up in the product including workflows, decisioning, and human oversight

  • Establish principles for trust, transparency, and control in AI experiences

  • Drive adoption of AI tools and workflows within the design team

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of 5 designers in India

  • Raise the bar on quality, ownership, and product thinking

  • Build a culture of speed, accountability, and strong craft

Customer and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to shape product direction

  • Work directly with customers to understand workflows and co-create solutions

  • Influence roadmap and present design direction to executive stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years in Product Design with 3+ years in leadership

  • Strong experience in B2B SaaS and complex workflow products

  • Proven ability to build products that customers love

  • Experience designing AI-first or AI-enabled products

  • Strong product thinking and ability to influence senior stakeholders

  • AI is built into workflows in a way that feels natural, useful, and trusted

  • Customers love the product and see clear operational impact

  • Design is a core driver of product strategy

  • The team operates with high ownership, speed, and quality
