We’re hiring a Director of Demand Generation to join our marketing team at EMARKETER.
The Role & Team:
We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and will challenge the team at every turn. This role is for someone who isn’t afraid to ask tough questions and who will ensure the quality of our brand promise is never compromised.
As the Director of Demand Generation, you will be responsible for driving customer acquisition and revenue growth for both our media and subscription offerings. You are adept at crafting and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns, developing digital marketing strategies to build and convert audiences throughout the prospect and customer journey, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize performance and ROI.
In this role, you will grow and retain our media audiences, developing them into qualified leads and opportunities for our sales teams through integrated demand generation strategies and campaigns. You will oversee all digital marketing, audience development, campaign coordination, and lead nurturing programs, while working closely with the rest of our marketing and media organization.
This is a hybrid role working from our New York City HQ at One Liberty Plaza two times a week.
The Ideal Candidate Is:
- A strong storyteller with excellent written and verbal communication to communicate strategy and direction
- An analytical thinker with the ability to optimize audience development and demand generation programs that convert to MQLs, and help diagnose breakdowns in the marketing and sales process
- Customer journey minded with the ability to develop strategies for creating pipeline for new offerings as well as upsell, cross-sell and account-based marketing programs to grow existing relationships
- Solution oriented with the ability to link product launches and positioning to organizational campaign themes and goals
- A strong collaborator and team player and able to connect multiple internal teams including marketing, sales, operations, and research to align on our targets and positioning
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Product Marketing to ensure cohesion between messaging to campaign creation and execution
- Develop and implement annual demand generation strategy and plans to achieve sales and pipeline goals
- Oversee campaign strategy development, execution, and optimization across digital channels (email, social media, web, paid search, display, etc) and digital / in-person events
- Manage top-of-funnel audience development programs including persona/segment identification, database growth, and profile enrichment to support our newsletter and media business
- Collaborate with Sales leadership, Sales, and Revenue Operations to monitor and optimize the entire prospect and customer journey
- Partner with Marketing Operations to track and report on key performance metrics including qualified leads, opportunities generated, ROI of campaigns
- Manage vendor and agency relationships for outsourced demand generation activities as needed
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience developing and executing integrated multi-channel demand generation strategies, with a track record of leading high-performing teams
- Expertise in email marketing, ABM, social media, campaign strategy, and lead nurturing
- Strong analytical and reporting skills to measure ROI of programs
- Experience with marketing automation and CRM systems like Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- B2B marketing experience (acquisition, media, digital) preferred, ideally within research, data, or media industries

- Base salary: $150,000-$170,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
