We’re hiring a Research Writer/Principal Analyst to lead our coverage of genAI and agentic AI at EMARKETER.

The Role and Team:

We are hiring a Principal Analyst to lead our coverage of genAI and agentic AI at EMARKETER, the preeminent provider of research on digital markets. This role is focused on how these innovations are transforming search and product discovery, and thereby disrupting existing advertising and ecommerce business models. The successful candidate will collaborate with other analysts and researchers who cover genAI and agentic AI’s impact across media, advertising, and the path to purchase.

As Principal Analyst, you will be responsible for writing and presenting research reports and data analysis, as well as staying on top of changing patterns in genAI and agentic AI. 

You’ll be in the know about how these technologies are disrupting longstanding media, advertising, and ecommerce business models. You’ll need to establish and maintain a reputation as a trusted, data-driven, and leading-edge authority on the industry. We expect you to be a go-to resource for clients, industry leaders, and media reporters. You’ll also be responsible for working with colleagues in other regions to set the tone for our research and help expand our global coverage.

This role requires a strong network of industry contacts and a deep understanding of the business of genAI and agentic AI. The position is ideally suited for someone with the drive, willingness, and knowledge to put a stake in the ground on future predictions, trendlines, and disruptors. 

This is a high-profile role with the opportunity for the right candidate to play a highly influential role in the industry.

This is a hybrid role working from our New York City HQ at One Liberty Plaza two times a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create forward-looking original insights to guide client decision-making on trends, disruptions and challenges.
  • Deliver tightly structured, insightful and actionable reports and presentations tailored to the key needs of our audience.
  • Ensure all deliverables include sharp data analytics, meet our high quality standards, publish on schedule, and provide actionable insights that help clients get their jobs done.
  • Collaborate with researchers, forecasters, editors, and cross-functional teams on client-centric content.
  • Develop a strong internal leadership profile by proactively engaging in both team- and company-wide meetings, Slack discussions, and product initiatives. 
  • Influence industry peers through social media like LinkedIn, at major conferences, and in the media.
  • Represent EMARKETER at conferences, webinars, and in the media as an industry thought leader.
  • React to topics in the news on social media with original and insightful analysis, particularly LinkedIn.
  • Partner with Sales to support lead generation and client engagement. 
  • Deliver on sponsored and paid presentations, webinars and podcasts.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Background in a role involving writing and analysis with a focus on AI, advertising, and/or ecommerce.
  • Hands-on experience at a market research firm, an agency, a consultancy, or any other solution provider serving clients in the advertising, marketing, media, or retail industries. 
  • Public speaking experience with client presentations, industry events, media appearances and/or webinars.
  • Expertise in creating and delivering memorable, story-driven presentations. 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects as assignments shift in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong  writing, charting, data comparison, and analysis skills.

Salary & Benefits

  • Base salary: $155,000-$175,000 (dependent on relevant expertise, and industry network).
