The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Recruiter to join our growing team as we continue to scale the firm. You will have the opportunity to help support our growth in all areas of the business, including our investment verticals and central teams. Partnering closely with hiring managers and senior leaders, you will optimize processes for ensuring an outstanding candidate and hiring manager experience at every touch point while also building a diverse group of candidate pipelines for our roles. This is a fast-paced role in an ever changing environment so the ability to be flexible is key to success. 

This role requires an in-office presence 2 days a week in our San Francisco, CA or Menlo Park, CA office.

  • Build talent pipelines: You’ll integrate sourcing strategies and opportunities that will meet the demand for a diverse pipeline of candidates for current and future needs
  • Build an elite candidate experience: You’ll create a highly effective and memorable candidate experience that will keep talent engaged in pipelines
  • Own your recruiting metrics: You’ll track and share key recruiting metrics that will be used to optimize processes and forecast hiring
  • Act as as strategic partner to senior stakeholders: Partner closely with hiring managers and senior leaders to strategize and execute on hiring for their teams across a variety of roles, coaching hiring managers on effective hiring practices and candidate management
  • Build trusted cross-functional relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders across the firm, including HR Business Partners and cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to operational excellence: Support ongoing refinement of workflows, tools, and systems across the recruiting lifecycle
  • Help elevate the team through driving excellence in execution: share best practices, collaborate thoughtfully and with high responsiveness, ensure an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience 
  • Expertise with full-cycle recruiting for different functions within an organization in a fast paced startup environment. Executive recruiting experience is a plus
  • Analyze recruitment metrics and reports to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
  • Well-developed network of diverse candidates and/or the skills to build networks quickly and comprehensively
  • Ability to cultivate long-term relationships
  • Experience crafting innovative recruitment strategies for underrepresented groups that deliver results 
  • Consistently source & build robust diverse talent pipelines
  • Be comfortable with a constantly changing and evolving environment while maintaining organization 
  • Extremely dynamic; able to attract, engage, and close talent
  • Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams; able to persuade, influence, and build trust at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to inspire change and gain the consensus needed from leaders across the organization
  • Solid understanding of industry trends and best practices and knowledge of different sourcing tools and methodologies
  • Previous experience with Greenhouse ATS preferred 
  • Extensive experience with executive stakeholders, proven experience managing high level, complex searches

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $239,000 - $278,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
