About The Team

This team is instrumental in developing Ivanti's purpose-built platform for CIOs and CISOs powered by Ivanti Neurons - a cloud-scale, hyperautomation layer that enables proactive healing, user-friendly security across the organization and provides an enhanced user experience. This department plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth trajectory through continuous innovation and customer-centric solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

 

  • Design and develop innovative security features to enhance product integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to address security challenges effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, security, reliability, and scalability throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing code within complex, large-scale environments.
  • Drive innovation by staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Take full ownership of end-to-end delivery, including unit testing, validation, and automation.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive security solutions are integrated.

To Be Successful in The Role, You Will Have

  • 10+ years of Experience working in Networking Security products preferably in SSL-VPN, NAC, WAF, SWG or Firewall products
  • MUST have experience working in Networking Protocols (DHCP, TCP/IP, AAA, RADIUS, LDAP, SNMP, 802.1X, IPSec, SSL/TLS) and various Authentication methods
  • MUST have programming experience with C++ and a good understanding of Perl and Python
  • MUST have good understanding of the Linux Operating System Internals, Linux OS Bring Up, Secure Boot, Bootloader, SELinux
  • Significant PLUS: have experience with triaging & analyzing issues, recommending recommendations and implementing fixes for security vulnerabilities (CVE’s and OWASP Top 25 issues)
  • Significant PLUS: Strong understanding of certificates, encryption and Security Tools such as Metasploit, BurpSuite, Nessus, ZAP, Qualys, Blackduck
  • Experience working in an AGILE environment and working with a geographically distributed team

Roadmap for Success

  • First 90 Days:
    • Complete orientation and onboarding process to familiarize with Ivanti’s culture, products, and team structures.
    • Engage in team meetings and shadow experienced engineers to understand ongoing projects and security challenges.
    • Review existing codebases and security protocols to identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop initial features or enhancements for security products under mentorship.
    • Establish relationships with cross-functional teams and gather input on security needs and expectations.
    • Set up development environment and tools required for ongoing projects.
    • Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and workshops on security trends and technologies.
  • First 6 Months:
    • Take ownership of at least one security enhancement project, delivering it within the set timelines.
    • Collaborate closely with architects to propose and implement innovative security solutions.
    • Consistently contribute to code reviews and provide feedback to peers to ensure quality and security standards.
    • Analyze system performance and security metrics to propose actionable improvements.
    • Lead a workshop or training session for team members on a relevant security topic or emerging technology.
    • Begin mentoring junior engineers by providing guidance and support on their projects and tasks.
    • Present updates on project progress and security initiatives to stakeholders.
  • First 12 Months:
    • Deliver a comprehensive security enhancement project with measurable success indicators.
    • Establish best practices for security development, sharing them with the larger engineering team.
    • Contribute to the strategy and planning of future releases based on evolving security threats.
    • Network externally at industry conferences or webinars to represent Ivanti and share insights.
    • Evaluate and integrate new security tools and technologies into existing workflows to enhance the team's capabilities.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on security vulnerabilities and mitigations to senior management.
    • Continue personal learning and development with certifications or courses related to security technologies.
