Distribution Partner Manager

Job Summary:
The Distribution Partner Manager oversees the strategic management and development of relationships with distribution partners to optimize supply chain operations, increase sales, and ensure effective delivery of products or services. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong partnerships while driving business growth and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner Relationship Management:
    • Primary point of contact for Carahsoft
    • Build and nurture strategic relationships with distribution partners to ensure mutual success.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all distribution partner activities.
    • Negotiate partnership agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and contracts.
  2. Performance Management:
    • Monitor and evaluate distribution partner performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
    • Identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with partners to enhance performance.
    • Implement strategies and initiatives to optimize efficiency, sales, and service delivery.
  3. Business Development:
    • Identify potential new distribution partners to expand market reach and improve supply chain capabilities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, operations) to align distribution strategies with overarching business objectives.
    • Develop and execute growth plans, promotions, and joint marketing initiatives with partners.
  4. Supply Chain Operations:
    • Oversee logistics and inventory management with distribution partners to ensure timely and reliable delivery of products/services.
    • Manage forecasting, demand planning, and stock replenishment processes with partners.
    • Resolve supply chain disruptions and ensure smooth operations.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze partnership performance metrics, market data, and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities.
    • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on partner performance and distribution channel effectiveness.
  6. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure partners adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and brand standards.
    • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure product/service quality and alignment with company goals.
  7. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and distribution partners, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
    • Facilitate regular meetings, trainings, and partner reviews to maintain transparency and collaboration.

 

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field. (A Master’s degree is a plus.)

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in partner management, distribution, supply chain, or B2B sales roles.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing distribution partnerships.
  • Experience with contract negotiations, inventory management, and performance optimization.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Ability to manage multiple partners and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and inventory systems.

 

Preferred Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or partner management software.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific trends and regulations.
  • Multilingual proficiency (if applicable to the region/market).

 

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel to meet with distribution partners and oversee operations may be required.
  • Standard office hours, with occasional extended hours based on project demands and deadlines.

 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Growth in partner-generated revenue and market share.
  • Distribution partner satisfaction and retention rate.
  • Improvement in supply chain efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Achievement of sales and delivery targets.
