Position Overview

The Software Engineer supports the development and ongoing maintenance of Adaptive’s production software systems. The Software Engineer works closely with project management, development leads, and QA by helping to design and then implement software solutions integral to Adaptive’s current and future engineering road maps. 

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Responsible for all phases of software development including specification, design, implementation, test, deployment of software that supports Adaptive’s production software systems.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and resolving production system issues
  • AI code generation with tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot
  • Full Stack developer
  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Required

  • SW Bootcamp or equivalent and 5+ years of production software development experience, or
  • B.S. in Computer Science and 2+ years of production software development experience, or
  • Master's 1+ years of production software development experience
  • Familiarity with standard software development best practices: source code control, unit testing, in-code documentation and automated build environments
  • Superior communication skills in a highly diverse cross-discipline environment
  • Ability to work in an Agile team environment such as Scrum.

  • Extensive experience with React framework, Browser development using JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Extensive experience with CSS, HTML, DOM, and Component Libraries
  • Extensive experience with REST and WebHooks for interactive GUIs.
  • Extensive experience designing functional and attractive user interfaces.
  • Experience with SQL relational databases
  • Extensive experience with a strongly typed object-oriented language (Java preferred)
  • Extensive experience with scripting languages (Python preferred)
  • Experience with SQL relational databases
  • A combination of Front End and Back End Engineers

Preferred

  • Python and/or Java experience
  • Experience with the IBM Carbon Design System
  • Concurrent or distributed computing experience
  • Experience with regulated software development
  • Experience with Linux applications spread across a hybrid cloud environment (AWS, Azure, collocation facility)
  • Experience with Next-generation sequencing data or LIMS systems

Working Conditions

  • If local, can be hybrid, if not, can be remote
  • Regular weekday work hours, with occasional weekend/after-hours planned or unplanned work as needed.
  • Some travel for team building events and project related work.

Compensation

Salary Range: $104,000 - $156,000

Other compensation elements include:

  • equity grant

Adaptive’s posted compensation information includes a base salary (or hourly rate) range and summary of other available total compensation. The base salary range represents a minimum-to-maximum salary (or hourly rate) available to candidates upon extension of offer. Base salary is thoughtfully considered upon offer and is determined through multiple evaluation checks throughout the interview process, including: a candidate’s ability to meet minimum qualifications (skills/experience/education), a candidate’s ability to thoughtfully address preferred qualifications, current market conditions, and internal pay equity. Listed base salary is exclusive of bonus, commission, equity, differential pay, benefits, and other incentives.
