What you’ll do

In this critical role you will be part of a global team responsible for providing wide ranging legal support across the business (with a focus on AlixPartners’ Italian business). You will support our consultants and leadership team with matters relating to client engagements. The remit will also cover matters such as employment matters, litigation and other general practice issues. This position requires strong writing, organization and communication skills, and an attention to detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate will possess characteristics such as: common sense, teamwork, diligence, integrity, professionalism, high level of good judgment, strong sense of accountability, and proactive in resolving issues. Please note that this role is to cover a period of maternity and will be a FTC that lasts for a minimum of 12-months.

The Legal Counsel is a member of the Legal Team, located in London, reporting to a Legal Team Managing Counsel.

  • Review, revise, draft, coordinate and help negotiate documents for internal clients across our global offices, such as confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, master service agreements and non-reliance letters.
  • Review reports or work product issued to clients in globally.
  • Coordinate communication with and between our firm’s clients, internal stakeholders, in-house counsel, outside professionals and service providers to resolve open issues and obtain internal engagement approvals.
  • Assist with compliance and other risk management matters coordinated by the Legal Team.
  • Additional responsibilities as identified.
  • Support internal teams with issues relating to human resources, employment matters and recruitment
  • Manage litigation matters and other general practice issues

What you’ll need

  • Italian law qualified with a law degree from an accredited law school is required (strong preference for Italian qualification) 5 years PQE*
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and business/project management experience or other practical business experience preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian (German, Arabic or French in addition would be a plus.)
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills with the ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities effectively and adapt to changing
  • Collaborative style with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers at all levels.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues and meet deadlines under tight time frames.
  • Customer service mindset with the ability to work with a variety of people across cultures and geographic locations to deliver consistent and timely results.
  • Able to handle and protect confidential, sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and other software platforms such as SpringCM and ServiceNow.
