Job Title:             Underwriter

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite property, commercial general liability, and umbrella.
    • Evaluate renewals for pricing and coverage in accordance with established underwriting guidelines
  • Solicit and cultivate new business opportunities
    • Develop and maintain productive relationships with brokers to drive growth and profitability
  • Maintain profitable renewal business through active relationship management and timely quotations.
  • Monitor underwriting results to ensure adherence to growth targets and target loss ratios.
  • Stay current on segment trends, including emerging exposures.
  • Participate in claims calls and program audits.
  • Facilitate the rate-quote-bind-issue process by working as part of a larger underwriting team, including back-office staff.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience as an underwriter or insurance broker in commercial lines preferred.
  • Active P&C license preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with AI tools is a plus.
