Inventory Control Supervisor

Position Overview

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an experienced and highly organized Inventory Control Supervisor to lead inventory accuracy, cycle count programs, material transactions, and inventory control operations supporting satellite manufacturing and warehouse activities. This position is responsible for ensuring inventory integrity, maintaining accurate ERP records, supporting production readiness, and leading a team of inventory professionals in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The Inventory Control Supervisor will collaborate closely with Planning, Production Control, Receiving, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Warehouse Operations to ensure uninterrupted material flow and inventory accuracy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily inventory control activities including cycle counts, inventory audits, material transfers, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Ensure inventory records accurately reflect physical inventory through disciplined transaction management.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor inventory adjustments and ensure proper approvals and documentation.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy targets across warehouse and production locations.
  • Oversee inventory location management and ensure proper storage and identification of materials.
  • Ensure replenishment of consumable materials and eliminate shortages.
  • Execute and complete cycle count and inventory audits as directed.
  • Review cycle count results and implement corrective actions for inventory variances.
  • Coordinate with Production Control and Manufacturing teams to ensure material availability for production schedules.
  • Monitor material movements between receiving, warehouse, stockrooms, and production areas.
  • Complete timely processing of inventory transactions within ERP/MRP systems to include temperature sensitive material.
  • Team Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management and warehouse efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Material Handlers.
  • Assign daily work activities and monitor team performance.
  • Conduct employee training in inventory processes, ERP transactions, and company procedures.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain KPI dashboards.
  • Resolve discrepancies and track transaction accuracy metrics.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant operational leadership experience may be considered.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, warehouse operations, manufacturing operations, or logistics.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing inventory control, inventory planning, warehouse inventory, or supply chain teams.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within aerospace, satellite manufacturing, automotive, electronics, defense, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing inventory to include high-value, serialized, and lot-controlled components.
  • Experience supporting lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing, and industrial operational environments.
  • Ability to regularly walk warehouse floors and oversee receiving dock operations.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel periodically between operational sites as required.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced production and industrial environments with varying operational demands.
