Integration & Test Systems Engineer (Epsilon3 Developer)

Midland, Texas, United States

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.

Position Summary:

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Integration & Test (I&T) Systems Engineer (Epsilon3 Developer) to join our Enterprise Applications team, specializing in Epsilon3 interfaces and integrations for spacecraft Integration & Test operations. As the platform of record for I&T, the successful candidate will design, develop, configure, implement, and maintain Epsilon3-based procedures, test plans, and data integrations that streamline test execution, ensure real-time capture of test and telemetry data, and maintain accurate data flows between Epsilon3, test equipment/GSE, ERP, and PLM systems.

Assembly and manufacturing execution (BOMs, routings, work orders, and work centers) are owned and mastered in Tulip (MES); this role owns everything downstream of the build — Integration & Test procedures, test plans/cases/points, requirements verification, anomaly and non-conformance tracking, and test data acquisition — picking up serialized, as-built units at the handoff from assembly to test. The successful candidate will actively support test readiness reviews, procedure redlines and approvals, requirements traceability, and dashboards, while maintaining Epsilon3 solutions tailored to I&T campaigns across environmental, RF, and functional test. This role partners closely with test, systems, and quality engineering teams to translate real-world I&T needs into robust, user-friendly Epsilon3 solutions that enable scalability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and maintain Epsilon3 test procedures, test plans, test cases/points, and connectors to support Integration & Test (I&T) campaigns, digital work instructions, requirements verification, and full as-run test history.
  • Integrate Epsilon3 with test equipment and ground support equipment (GSE), telemetry systems, and environmental test assets (thermal vacuum, vibration/shock, RF, and functional test stands) for real-time data acquisition directly into procedure steps.
  • Administer the Epsilon3 environment, including user and role management, system configuration, and REST API/connector integration with ERP, PLM, and Tulip (MES) to receive serialized, as-built unit data at the assembly-to-test handoff.
  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data tools to provide visibility into test coverage, requirements verification status, anomaly/non-conformance (NCR) tracking, CAPA status, and test readiness.
  • Own procedure version control, redlines, in-line feedback, and approval workflows during live test campaigns, including at remote test and launch site locations.
  • Collaborate with test, systems, and quality engineering stakeholders to capture requirements, translate them into technical designs, perform testing, and support UAT and campaign rollout.
  • Document system designs, configurations, and standard work; establish auditing and change control processes for procedure revisions, test article changes, and releases.
  • Monitor and resolve data synchronization issues between Epsilon3, Tulip, ERP, and PLM; implement systemic rules and automation to improve data quality and reduce manual handoffs.
  • Serve as the primary Jira support contact for Epsilon3/I&T tooling requests; manage ticket triage, tracking, and reporting to Test, Systems, and IT leadership.
  • Mentor and train test engineers and technicians on Epsilon3 procedure authoring, execution, and best practices; drive continuous improvement across I&T operations.
  • Ensure compliance with data integrity, cybersecurity, and system validation standards, including AS9100/FAA requirements for test records.
  • Assist with license usage optimization and cost control for Epsilon3 and related test/operations tooling.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience administering, configuring, and developing test or operations management platforms, including at least 2 years of hands-on Epsilon3 experience (procedure authoring, test plans/cases, connectors, dashboards).
  • Strong knowledge of test data acquisition, GSE/telemetry integration, and requirements verification/traceability; prior experience with ERP and PLM integrations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISA-95 (enterprise-control system integration) concepts and enterprise architecture principles/frameworks such as TOGAF (or equivalent), applied to aligning MES, ERP, and PLM data models and system integrations.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Java, Python, or C-family languages); database development and scripting/API skills a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, create technical solution designs, perform testing (including UAT), and deliver production-ready implementations.
  • Experience with change management, requirements traceability, non-conformance (NCR) and CAPA processes, and document control.
  • Skilled in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project) and capable of working across multiple web platforms.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in fast-paced, cross-functional teams; leadership experience preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Technology Stack

  • Test & Operations Platform: Epsilon3 (Procedures, Test Plans/Cases/Points, Requirements Traceability, Connectors/REST API, Dashboards).
  • Upstream Integration: Tulip (MES) for assembly, BOM, and work order data at the assembly-to-test handoff; PLM and ERP (NetSuite) for part, revision, and unit data.
  • Data Acquisition: Real-time telemetry ingestion from test stands, GSE, environmental chambers (thermal vacuum/vibration), and RF test equipment.
  • Collaboration & Analytics: Jira for task management; Power BI for analytics (preferred); PagerDuty.
  • Quality & Compliance: NCR/CAPA workflows, AS9100/FAA traceability, requirements verification and digital work instructions.

Work Location & Schedule

On-site in Midland, TX. Limited remote flexibility may be evaluated based on role needs and test/launch campaign support windows.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
