IT Support Engineer
We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to help maintain and enhance our IT systems. In this role, you will be responsible for providing hands-on support for our IT infrastructure, systems, and networks. You will assist employees with troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of our technology. This role will be highly interactive and involve solving problems, maintaining security, and helping our team with their IT needs.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide first- and second-line support for IT-related issues, troubleshooting both hardware and software problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, software, and networks.
- Ensure that employees have access to the necessary tools and technology to perform their work, while maintaining system security and efficiency.
- Respond to support tickets in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high level of user satisfaction.
- Assist in maintaining cybersecurity standards across the organization, including monitoring for phishing attacks and endpoint security concerns.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on basic IT issues and cybersecurity best practices.
- Maintain and update IT documentation, including hardware/software inventory and user guides.
- Assist with user account setup and management, including identity & access management systems and SAML logins for cloud-based tools.
- Perform IT system audits and contribute to the identification of areas for improvement.
- Offer remote and on-site support, with a focus on our Zurich headquarters initially, and other sites as needed based on assessments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, System Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT support or system administration, with hands-on experience in supporting IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure, VPNs, and identity & access management systems.
- Proficiency in supporting a diverse environment with Linux/Mac/Windows endpoints.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices, including endpoint security and threat detection.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
- Any relevant certifications in IT support, system administration, or cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA, ITIL, or similar) is a plus.
- CH / EU Citizenship is a must have
