About the Role

This is a player-coach role designed for a high-performing enterprise sales leader who combines exceptional individual execution with the ability to build and scale winning teams.

You will personally own and close transformational enterprise deals while leading a team of 2–3 Account Executives focused on penetrating strategic accounts and acquiring new logos.

The ideal candidate brings a strong network of executive relationships, excels at consultative and value-based selling, and has a demonstrated track record of creating opportunities, navigating complex buying processes, and consistently exceeding ambitious revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Avathon's Energy growth strategy across Oil & Gas, Utilities, Power Generation, Renewables, and Energy Infrastructure.
  • Identify, prioritize, and penetrate the industry's largest target accounts.
  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with senior executives and operational leaders.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of Account Executives and Sr. Account Executives
  • Create and drive executive engagement strategies that lead to transformational enterprise opportunities.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial engagement through contract execution.
  • Build compelling business cases around operational improvement, asset optimization, supply chain resilience, production efficiency, reliability, and autonomous operations.
  • Partner closely with Avathon's executive leadership, product, strategy, and forward deployed engineering teams to shape customer-specific transformation roadmaps.
  • Develop strategic partnerships that position Avathon as a long-term AI platform provider across multiple operational domains.
  • Represent Avathon at industry events, executive forums, and board-level customer engagements.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of enterprise sales, business development, or strategic account leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of winning new logos and creating large enterprise opportunities within the Energy sector.
  • Experience selling to executive decision makers within:
    • Upstream Oil & Gas
    • Midstream and Pipeline Operations
    • Refining and Petrochemicals
    • Utilities
    • Power Generation
    • Renewable Energy Operators
    • Energy Infrastructure Providers
  • Demonstrated success closing multi-million-dollar enterprise software, industrial technology and digital transformation deals while mentoring and carrying a team quota
  • Strong network of executive relationships across the Energy ecosystem.
  • Ability to engage confidently with C-suite stakeholders and board-level audiences.
  • Exceptional executive communication, negotiation, and business case development skills.
  • Preferred experience selling AI, Industrial AI, Asset Performance Management, Digital Twin, Operational Technology, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Industrial Data platforms.

Salary:

 $400k OTE. Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
