About the Role

Avathon is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to lead pre-sales efforts of generative and agentic AI architectures for our customers across industrial sectors including Energy, Mining, Manufacturing, and Aerospace & Defense. You will be the technical anchor across the sales lifecycle — translating customer business objectives into concrete architectures built on Avathon's Computational Knowledge Graph (CKG), Model Hub, Agent Foundry, and Visual AI (VAIA) capabilities, integrated with hyperscaler infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Oracle) and customers' existing OT/IT systems. This role sits at the intersection of frontier AI and industrial transformation — partnering closely with account teams, forward-deployed engineering, and product to turn complex, multi-stakeholder requirements into production-grade AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic technical roadmaps and implementation plans for generative and agentic AI solutions that align with customers' business objectives and existing OT/IT architecture.
  • Design and implement AI architectures that orchestrate complex workflows across enterprise and industrial systems, leveraging Avathon's Computational Knowledge Graph, Model Hub (industrial LLMs), Agent Foundry, and Visual AI (VAIA) — integrated with hyperscaler services (GCP, AWS, Oracle) and industrial data sources (SCADA, OPC-UA/DA, MQTT, historians).
  • Credibly advise senior technical and executive stakeholders on architectural trade-offs, risks, and long-term AI strategy, translating complex technical concepts into business language that demonstrates clear value and informs decision-making.
  • Mentor forward-deployed engineers and account teams, contributing to knowledge sharing that advances AI adoption and implementation best practices across the field organization.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives — representing Avathon at industry events and run demonstrations (e.g., ARC Industry Forum, Offshore Technology Conference, Hannover Messe, MINExpo International, ADIPEC), publishing technical content (blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures), and sharing best practices with the broader industrial AI community.
  • Stay current with advancements in generative and agentic AI research and hyperscaler capabilities to improve system performance and recommend optimal technology stacks.
  • Define and implement evaluation frameworks for AI systems — model performance benchmarking, output quality assessment, and operational monitoring (AIOps) — ensuring deployed solutions meet enterprise reliability and governance standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in enterprise SaaS applications.
  • 5+ years of specific domain experience (software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, data/analytics, AI infrastructure, or security).
  • At least 6 years’ experience in customer facing roles
  • A certificate or demonstrated experience in Data Science or Machine Learning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent listening and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in coordinating and driving cross-functional efforts
  • Flexibility to travel 20% or as business needs require

It Would Be Great If You Had:

  • Experience working with industrial data (SCADA, OPC-UA, MQTT, historians) or in industrial enterprise environments (Energy, Mining, Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense).
  • Experience with computer vision, vision-based AI modeling, or multi-modal systems.

Pay Range: $160,000 - $220,000. Pay for this position is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
