Manager, Software Engineering

SUMMARY

The Manager of Software Engineering is responsible for leading a team of software engineers to deliver on assigned objectives in alignment with product and technical goals. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of Agile processes and facilitating collaboration across teams. The Manager will work closely with the Director, Product Management, and other stakeholders to deliver quality software on time.

This role will be hired within Avetta's Pegasus Management Pty Ltd entity as a full-time role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support a team of software engineers, offering guidance and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with product managers and other departments to detail requirements, mitigate risks, and resolve issues.
  • Oversee the development process, from gathering requirements to coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure projects are properly tracked in JIRA, and that reviews and quality checks are conducted before releases.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives.

PREFERRED SKILLSET:

  • B.S. in Computer Science from a 4-year college or university or equivalent
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management
  • Experience in multi-tenant software as a service (SaaS) organization, typically obtained through 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with distributed systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure), typically obtained through 3+ years of experience.

  • Collaboration with other teams is smooth and efficient
  • The manager removes blockers that prevent the team from executing effectively
