SUMMARY

The Product Owner – WFM will be responsible for the delivery of the roadmap for the Avetta Workforce Management (WFM) suite of products with additional oversight into various middleware applications, learning platforms and Business Intelligence platforms where required.

The Product Owner -WFM will direct the key planned features and functions of these product areas to ensure that the product vision and backlog of WFM is delivered in a timely manner and in line with quarterly plans, roadmaps and priorities. This individual is responsible for the product planning and execution of the product management business case. The product owner will use excellent instincts to prioritise the requirements of the plan as well as apply a data influenced mindset. They will work closely with design, engineering, and others across functional teams to execute on the strategy and create great experiences and value for our customers.

The product owner will work closely with external client facing team members to ensure that any escalated requirements or support calls are incorporated into the backlog planning process. The product owner will work with Product Managers of the WFM team to balance the requirements of the company strategy into a planned outcome for the development team using priority metrics and dev ready requirements. 

If residing within commutable distance to one of our Avetta office locations, a hybrid schedule would be offered (3 days in office, 2 days work from home).  Remote work may be considered for those outside of commutable distance to an office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the creation and successful execution of the product roadmap plans and backlogs. Ensure Roadmaps are aligned with the vision and strategy and prioritised accordingly. Create a cohesive and integrated suite of products that achieve the vision and strategy of the product roadmap
  • Work with both the scrum and development leaders, along with the product management team to build robust and deliverable product roadmap requirements.
  • Work with the product managers to ensure that the requirements of the roadmap have been provided in the most appropriate way to ensure that they are able to be delivered by the development team.
  • Attend any development meetings with product and development to understand the requirements of the product vision and identify any potential shortfalls in the development capability to achieve this outcome.
  • Work with the product managers to clearly define the requirements of MVP versus further iterative development to ensure a rapid deployment of product features to the various applications – ensure that scope is clearly defined and articulated in the delivery to ensure that subsequent items in the roadmap are not adversely impacted.
  • Ensure that any day-to-day product escalation issues – eg: support calls are correctly reviewed and triaged to ensure they are completed in an appropriate timeframe and within the sprint cadence where possible.
  • Ensure product requirements are clearly defined in Confluence and JIRA. Write user stories and acceptance criteria where required from the product vision.
  • Participate in scrum rituals such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives and daily standup meetings.
  • Work with the QA team to ensure that appropriate test strategies have been applied to feature delivery.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • 3-6 years’ experience in a product ownership/management role in a SaaS environment.
  • Strong background in priority management and triage processes.
  • Ability to develop a deep and comprehensive understanding of the product suite features and functionality.
  • Ability to be a self-starter, high degree of self-direction and independent drive.
  • Creative and analytical thinker who thrives on solving challenging problems.
  • Passion for building engaging user experiences to ensure features drive high adoption and customer enthusiasm. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey ideas through detailed specifications and/or wireframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, translate to customer and business implications, manage tradeoffs, and facilitate decision-making.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with competing resources and priorities, through the product life cycle from planning, development, to launch.
