Position requires 50-75% travel to all of Maryland (will eventually include Virginia).

POSITION SUMMARY:

Collaborate directly with office Directors and Clinical Leadership team members (Clinical Manager (CM), Rehabilitation Manager (RM), Clinical Associate (CA)) to ensure high level client service, clinical excellence, quality, and adherence to policies and procedures in accordance with The BAYADA Way. Accountable for supporting clinical leaders in the visit offices in effective execution of: episodic case management, high quality clinical care, and professional development for the clinical team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exemplifies characteristics of The BAYADA Way: compassion, excellence and reliability.
  • Four (4) year college degree.
  • Holds a current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse or Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of BAYADA Home Health Care Clinical Leadership (CM/RM) experience or comparable experience within home care.
  • Completed Continuing Education Requirements (CEUs) as required by regulation.
  • Demonstrated record of strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated record of goal achievement.
  • Demonstrated record of successfully taking on more responsibility with positive results and ambition to grow past current position.
  • Successful transition from CM II or RM II role as evidenced by approval of Regional Director or Division Director to advance into the Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) role.
  • Exceptional external candidates with home health leadership experience will be considered.
  • Competence in basic PC skills required to perform job functions.
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL OPERATIONS:

  • Demonstrated expertise in episodic case management, high quality clinical service delivery, and multidisciplinary team management.
  • Demonstrated record of developing staff into Clinical Leadership roles (CM/RM) or other promotional opportunities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all areas of responsibility.
  • Understands and connects with BAYADA’s culture.
  • Effective presentation skills and ability to influence an audience.
  • Leads by example.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Management
  • Supporting office CM/RM’s, divisional CM/RM’s, regional CM/RM’s as well as CM II/RM II
  • Regulatory Compliance and Readiness
  • Quality STAR Reports and rating monitoring: PI projects to improve
  • Lead QAPI Team
  • PDP Huddle support
  • OASIS coding support
  • Policy support, education, and dissemination
  • Clinical Competency support
  • Educating and assessing effective management of impact of GM%, NVA, less than 30-day episodes
  • Educating and monitoring F2F success
  • Travel with overnight stay may be required

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Will be done in collaboration with the Director and Division Director)

  • Demonstrate and communicate the core values of BAYADA and The BAYADA Way.
  • Develop working knowledge of BAYADA’s mission, services, people, organization, policies and procedures.
  • Establish BAYADA as the home health care provider and employer of choice.
  • Function as a consultant to office Directors, in collaboration with the Division Director.
  • Participate in strategic planning for divisional growth, market development, and program design.
  • Participate in the hiring, development, and support of clinical leaders and high potential field employees.
  • Mentor CM, RM, CA so they can function effectively and efficiently in their roles resulting in the delivery of efficient case management, high quality clinical services, and effective recruitment, retention, and development of clinical leaders (office and field) – refer to CM/RM/CA job descriptions.
  • Collaborate with the Division Director and each office Director to facilitate successor planning of clinical leaders within the division.
  • Serve as the Divisional lead in working with offices to:
    • Implement new processes and procedures related to initiatives in each of the five pillars (People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finances) that are directly impacted by the CM/RM/CA (i.e. episodic gross margin, case management, PDP process and hospital readmission, etc.).
    • Assist with the design of new programs or processes that can improve the delivery of efficient case management, high quality clinical services, and effective recruitment, retention, and development of clinical leaders (office and field).
    • Oversee clinical program implementation across the Division and work in collaboration with the Division Director office to conduct program administration and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the POL office in regard to, policies and procedures, the QA office in regard to clinical quality assurance, mentorship of clinical leaders, and utilization of clinical resources.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Talent Development program (TDP) activities.
  • Participate in office, divisional, and company meetings, events, and functions, as needed.
  • Attend and participate in Weekly DCO meetings. Provide updates to division leaders and staff.
  • Demonstrate expertise in conflict management skills and act as a role model in mentoring and coaching employees.
  • Demonstrates high flexibility in working with the Division Director, Director, the service office team, and field staff, when applicable.
  • Represent the organization to other groups, agencies, and the general public using accurate public information materials.
  • Remain up to date with current organizational, community, and industry trends.
  • Participates in special projects: prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Demonstrate solid performance or exceed performance standards in key job dimensions/attributes as defined on the Performance Appraisal for Office Staff.
  • Perform related duties, or as required or requested by supervisor.
