About the Role

At BILL, we are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Product Finance team. In this individual contributor (IC) role, you will act as a key financial partner to our product organization, building analyses that power confident, data-driven product investment decisions and keep execution on track. You will support the annual planning process, build and maintain product KPI reporting, and partner closely with senior Product Finance team members to develop business cases for new features and strategic initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to develop deep product finance expertise while directly contributing to product strategy, performance tracking, and resource allocation decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Serve as a proactive financial partner to product managers and product leaders, translating financial data and analysis into clear insights that inform day-to-day and strategic decisions.
  • Product KPIs & Reporting: Build, maintain, and continuously improve reporting on key product KPIs (e.g., adoption, retention, monetization, unit economics), incorporating leading indicators to flag emerging risks or opportunities early.
  • Financial Modeling & Business Cases: Build and maintain financial models to support business cases for new product launches, feature investments, and pricing initiatives.
  • Annual Planning: Support annual planning for the product organization, including budget tracking, variance analysis, and headcount planning.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring reporting and analysis, improving accuracy and turnaround time.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, equity research, or a related analytical role.
  • Financial Modeling: Strong financial modeling skills using Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to build and maintain moderately complex models with guidance from senior team members.
  • Software/Payments Experience (Preferred): Experience at a software or payments company is a plus. Experience with credit and/or fraud loss modeling is particularly valued.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear analytical frameworks.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a "no task is too small" mindset and a track record of building trust across teams.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts and analysis to non-finance stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ownership Mindset: Self-motivated and organized, with a strong sense of ownership over multiple deliverables and priorities, operating effectively with general guidance from senior team members.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
