We are seeking a Housekeeper to make an impact on our guests' experience by providing quality services. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in ensuring camp common and guest areas are clean and sanitized meeting or exceeding Buckner's quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

  • Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor on retreat group schedules and guest service needs to ensure cabins, lodge rooms, administrative areas, meeting rooms, and other assigned spaces are thoroughly cleaned and prepared for guests.
  • Complete minor building repairs throughout the camp, including changing light bulbs, hanging curtains or blinds, repairing toilets, tightening loose doorknobs and securing clothing hooks, bed repair, electrical outlet and switch cover replacements.
  • Complete building and room checklists accurately and report any maintenance issues that cannot be repaired.
  • Use tools, equipment and training provided by the Facilities Director to complete assigned work safely and effectively.
  • Assist with cleaning, setting up and taking down furniture and equipment across the camp.
  • Provide housekeeping and operational support for retreats, conferences and other camp events.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Identify unsafe situations or areas and report concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Respond promptly to requests for information, provide accurate information and notify the supervisor of any concerns.
  • Perform assigned tasks as requested by the supervisor, including cleaning, climbing ladders, carrying laundry bins, moving beds, assisting other departments and setting up meeting rooms.
  • Identify, correct, or report conditions that could cause accidents or injuries to children, staff, guests, or others.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and guests across the campus.

 What you’ll bring:

  • Requires ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position, including communication with clients, volunteers, and community partners, documentation, and collaboration with staff. Spanish language proficiency preferred to support effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients and families.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude and knowledge to safely use hand tools, power and cordless tools.
  • Know or be able to learn how to do basic minor repairs on common furnishings and equipment found in a hotel type room or cabin.
  • Required organizational skills to assist in the development of checklists, record keeping, inventory control of tools and common supplies.
  • The Environmental services Technician will act as the safety coordinator for the housekeeping team.
  • Requires continued coordination with the Housekeeping Supervisor and the Facilities Director for training, tools and scheduling.
  • Requires jobholder to work before and after normal business hours, some nights and weekends, as needed to meet client and business needs including promptly responding to phone calls, text messages and emails. 
  • Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with an appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Requires the ability to rent vehicles both domestically and internationally using required documentation. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
  • Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer-related tasks with specific equipment and software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.
