The Senior Manager, DevOps Engineering is essential for ensuring the delivery of our next generation infrastructure and smooth functioning of the systems that are the backbone of a company’s operations. By reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this position not only highlights its importance but also emphasizes the strategic significance of system stability and reliability in the broader technological framework of the company.

This is a full time position, the salary range for this role is $170,000 - $210,000 plus bonus, depending on level of experience and geographic location.

  • Act as a hands-on people manager, facilitator of agile ceremonies and technical mentor for our small but mighty DevOps team
  • Be a leader and expert on our cloud-based infrastructure platform that powers Carrum Health and have the opportunity to design our next-generation platform
  • Interested in staying hands-on and take ownership of the code you develop and release your work product frequently into the production environment
  • Work with a diverse group of people from a wide variety of backgrounds that value inclusion and openness
  • Channel your inner product manager through gathering requirements from cross-functional stakeholders and drafting well-written stories into a prioritized backlog that prevent and solve problems that impact our patients
  • Hold yourself and others accountable to spending that extra 10% on a project to deliver great documentation in addition to the functionality itself
  • Secure everything we do and keep security and compliance at the forefront for your team as you build out new software

We’re excited about you because…

  • 8+ years of experience working with Terraform, multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and/or site reliability engineering
  • 3+ years of experience working with container orchestration tools (e.g. ECS, EKS) as well as the supporting deployment models and monitoring/observability of them
  • 2+ years people management experience
  • You have previous experience scaling platforms on AWS & Azure with a thorough understanding of reference architectures, showcasing your ability to design and implement cost-effective cloud solutions that align with industry best practices
  • Experience in hiring, managing and optimizing delivery of a mix of full-time employees, contractors and vendors 
  • Expertise in implementing DevOps culture, fostering collaboration between development and operations teams
  • Experienced in designing monitoring solutions around cloud infrastructure management
  • A passion for working with Engineering teams to help them to identify where and when problems can be solved with cloud infrastructure and pipeline automation
  • You are motivated by identifying and prioritizing problems as much as you are solving them and you are comfortable sharing your recommendations with team members and leaders
  • You enjoy coaching up and learning from Engineering partners to help both sides to strike the right balance between resilience/maintainability and roadmap objectives
  • You have interpersonal skills and are organized, empathetic, persistent, and curious
  • You have experience in the healthcare space or another highly-regulated industry
  • You work in an iterative mindset and can adjust to a steady stream of evolving and changing requirements to meet a startup’s needs
  • You bring expertise in rolling out AI-based solutions for developer satisfaction & productivity
