The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, we're transforming how private capital operates — connecting the software, services, and legal infrastructure that founders, fund managers, and legal teams depend on. We believe the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow.

As a Loan Operations Manager, you’ll work to:

  • Manage the entire loan servicing lifecycle for complex private credit instruments, including bilateral, club, and syndicated loans such as term loans, delayed draw term loans (DDTLs), revolvers, unitranche, and asset-based lending facilities.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and processing of interest, fees, PIK accruals, amortization schedules, original issue discount (OID) accretion, and unused/commitment fees, leveraging LSTA/LMA conventions and evolving benchmark interest rates including SOFR and credit-sensitive rates.
  • Execute and reconcile cash transactions, manage lender/borrower communications, and proactively resolve settlement breaks with internal and external stakeholders to maintain operational integrity.
  • Partner with fund accounting teams to support month-end close processes, maintain accuracy in position tracking, and assist in providing documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Support frontline investment professionals and relationship managers with timely and accurate servicing data, including responses to borrower/lender inquiries and documentation requirements.

The Team You'll Work With

You’ll be joining our Credit Operations team, a growing function dedicated to supporting Carta’s private credit platform by maintaining precision and efficiency across all stages of the loan servicing lifecycle.

Our mission is to provide institutional-grade support to the investment, fund accounting, and fund administration teams by managing trade settlements, cash flows, and notification workflows across diverse and complex credit instruments. We champion operational excellence and risk management while scaling Carta’s loan servicing capabilities as our private credit strategies continue to grow.

About You

You're someone who thrives on bringing structure to complex workflows and executing with discipline in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. You combine deep technical loan knowledge with a collaborative mindset and a passion for process improvement.

  • 8+ years of experience recommended in private credit loan operations, bank loan servicing, CLO administration, or through a third-party loan agent.
  • Expertise in credit agreement mechanics, including loan origination and lifecycle events (fundings, rollovers, prepayments, conversions, etc.).
  • Proficiency in LSTA/LMA conventions, day count standards, and benchmark rate calculations (SOFR, Term SOFR, Daily Simple).
  • Attention to detail with strong numerical accuracy and ability to analyze complex position and cash reconciliations.
  • A team-oriented problem solver who thrives in time-sensitive, high-visibility operating environments.
  • Experience with direct lending portfolios, including unitranche, DDTL, super-senior/first-out structures, and PIK toggles, is highly preferred.
