Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers?  We are looking for a Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition to join our Human Resources team for an upcoming vacancy, to help shape how we attract the talent behind our continued growth.

This is leadership role with responsibility for leading our global Talent Acquisition team and overseeing recruitment strategy and operations across CC&L Financial Group and its affiliates. Talent Acquisition is a valued function at CC&L, with significant investment made over the past several years to build on our capabilities. Our team has more than doubled during that time, growing from approximately 4 to 10 professionals globally which this key resource will be responsible to lead. Alongside team growth, there has also been continued investment in technology, data, processes and infrastructure to support the evolving needs of our businesses.

As a trusted advisor to business leaders, you will translate business priorities into forward-looking talent strategies, bring insight into an evolving talent market, and help leaders make informed hiring decisions. You will lead and develop a team of recruitment professionals while continuing to modernize our approach to sourcing, candidate experience, employment brand, technology, data and AI-enabled recruitment. This is an opportunity for an experienced Talent Acquisition leader who is equally comfortable setting strategy, embracing new technology, staying connected to execution, and who is excited about continuing to build a modern, scalable Talent Acquisition function.

Join a collaborative, inclusive community that values your well-being and flexibility. Work on meaningful projects with talented colleagues committed to your growth and success. Your contributions will be recognized through competitive rewards and opportunities for advancement.  Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in-office and remote working days throughout the week. This role will require 3 days/week working in our Toronto office location.

What You Will Do

  • Lead our talent acquisition strategy, partnering with senior leaders to understand current and future talent needs and develop approaches aligned with business priorities, our shared values and continued growth.
  • Act as a trusted talent advisor to business leaders and hiring managers, bringing market intelligence, recruiting expertise and sound judgment to sourcing, assessment, selection and hiring decisions.
  • Lead and develop the Talent Acquisition team, providing coaching, direction and mentorship while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Modernize and evolve our Talent Acquisition function, leveraging AI, automation and emerging technologies to improve recruiter productivity, streamline processes and create a more scalable and effective function.
  • Strengthen how we attract and assess talent through proactive sourcing, talent pipelines, employment branding, skills-based hiring and effective assessment practices across professional, specialized and early-career talent.
Use data and talent intelligence to drive decisions, translating recruitment metrics, market trends and external talent insights into meaningful recommendations for business leaders.
Deliver an exceptional hiring experience, continuously improving how candidates and hiring managers experience the recruitment process while maintaining high standards for quality and service.
Oversee Talent Acquisition operations and governance, ensuring our technology, processes, policies and practices are effective, compliant and positioned to support the organization's evolving needs.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, including experience leading a recruitment team or function within a complex, fast-paced or growing organization.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior and executive leaders, with the business acumen, credibility and communication skills to influence talent strategy and hiring decisions.
  • Strong people leadership experience, with a track record of developing high-performing recruiters and creating an accountable, collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.
  • Experience developing and executing talent acquisition and sourcing strategies across professional, specialized and difficult-to-hire talent markets.
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation and recruitment technology to improve processes, productivity and outcomes, along with an understanding of responsible AI use within Talent Acquisition.
  • Strong data and talent intelligence capabilities, with experience using recruiting metrics and external market insights to identify trends, evaluate effectiveness and influence decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change and continuous improvement, including implementing new technology, processes or ways of working and driving adoption with recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Experience overseeing Talent Acquisition operations, including recruitment processes, systems and workflows, data and reporting, vendor management, and the ongoing optimization of tools and practices to improve efficiency, consistency and scalability.
  • Prior experience using Greenhouse or similar applicant tracking systems is considered an asset
