Vice President, Sales – Public, Fleet & Auto

What You Will Be Doing

This is a quota-carrying enterprise sales role responsible for landing and expanding large, complex public charging accounts across CPO, Retail, and Destination segments. You will own the full enterprise sales cycle — prospecting, discovery, solution design, multi-stakeholder negotiation, and close — while developing deep segment expertise that sharpens your approach and feeds actionable intelligence back to Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing. The person in this seat reports to the Vice President of Sales, North America and operates as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers and a subject-matter resource to internal teams.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

Segment Expertise & Pipeline Development

  • Develop deep knowledge of customer economics, procurement patterns, technical requirements, and competitive positioning within your assigned segments (CPO & Retail) to inform deal strategy and pipeline prioritization
  • Share field intelligence and customer feedback with Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing on a regular cadence to help shape roadmap priorities, regulatory positioning, and go-to-market messaging
  • Prospect and generate new enterprise pipeline by identifying and engaging key decision-makers and buying committees within major accounts across each sub-segment
  • Stay current on market, competitive, and policy shifts; track pipeline and revenue KPIs within your segments to identify emerging opportunities and adjust your approach

Strategic Account Management

  • Own a portfolio of named enterprise accounts; serve as the primary point of accountability for account health, expansion, and long-term
  • Lead end-to-end negotiation and contract structuring for high-value, multi-year enterprise agreements, navigating procurement, legal, and executive stakeholder
  • Drive land-and-expand motions within enterprise accounts, deepening executive relationships and uncovering new use cases to grow annual contract value
  • Collaborate with cross-functional pursuit teams (sales, marketing, legal, finance, product) on major RFPs and large bids, using blueprint data to sharpen proposal strategy

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Bring account and field intelligence into Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing conversations to influence what gets built, priced, and messaged based on real customer needs.
  • Build business cases, ROI analyses, and total-cost-of-ownership models to support enterprise pursuits and customer investment decisions, partnering with deal desk and solution engineering as needed
  • Track your pipeline and account performance against plan; adjust account strategies as the market evolves

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master's/MBA with 8+ years; or PhD with 5+ years; or equivalent professional experience. Advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 12 years of enterprise sales experience selling complex solutions to large organizations, with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding quota; EV, energy, or technology sector background required, with public charging market exposure strongly preferred
  • Skilled at building executive-ready presentations (PowerPoint) that translate complex data into clear narratives for internal and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable leveraging AI and automation tools to accelerate research, analysis, and content development
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Proven track record of managing long enterprise sales cycles ($1M+ deal sizes) and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals at the C-suite and VP level
  • Ability to think strategically and act operationally — able to build and execute enterprise account plans that map stakeholders, identify expansion opportunities, and drive measurable revenue growth
  • Recognized internally and externally as a subject-matter authority on market dynamics; leads or contributes to the development of company sales strategy, pricing policy, and go-to-market positioning based on deep synthesis of competitive intelligence, customer insights, and industry trends
  • Deep expertise in the e-mobility industry, public charging infrastructure, and energy markets required; established industry network and relationships a strong differentiator. Regularly engages with key external stakeholders — industry groups, regulatory bodies, and C-level customer executives — to advance company positioning and inform strategic decisions
  • Willingness to travel domestically as business needs require
