Reports To

Senior Manager, Revenue Operations

Role Summary

ChargePoint is looking for a Lead Revenue Accountant & Operations Analyst to champion our end-to-end revenue lifecycle. In this critical role, you will bridge the gap between accounting execution and strategic revenue operations, ensuring the financial integrity of our SaaS, hardware, and services streams. Join us to drive process automation, strengthen our financial frameworks, and support ChargePoint's mission to build the future of e-mobility.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Lead Revenue Operations Analyst and Accountant, you will combine hands-on accounting execution with strategic revenue operations leadership. You will own the revenue lifecycle—from contract review and ASC 606 compliance through journal entries, reconciliations, and close execution. Acting as a strategic bridge between Revenue Accounting, Sales, Legal, and FP&A, you will focus on driving process automation, maintaining audit-ready financial records, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of revenue reporting. Success in your first 6–12 months includes streamlining close activities and elevating team performance through proactive problem resolution.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Lead the review and analysis of complex sales contracts, purchase orders, and multi-element arrangements to ensure precise revenue recognition under ASC 606.

  • Manage revenue arrangements in NetSuite, configuring and validating start/end dates, revenue schedules, billing data, and subsidiary ledger entries.

  • Drive end-to-end monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, preparing journal entries, revenue deferrals, accruals, and variance analyses.

  • Oversee tracking and milestone-based recognition for project-based revenue, ensuring deliverables are timely and well-documented.

  • Maintain standalone selling price (SSP) allocation models and prepare comprehensive, audit-ready documentation for external auditors and internal SOX compliance.

  • Reconcile revenue data seamlessly across Salesforce, NetSuite, and internal reporting tools to ensure unwavering consistency.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Operations, serving as the primary escalation point for revenue coding issues and proactive process fixes.

  • Collaborate with FP&A to support revenue forecasting, partner rebate programs, sales reserves accruals, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

  • Support state and government-funded project revenue, carefully navigating special handling requirements and mixed-product accounting treatments.

  • Champion automation and process improvement initiatives to streamline revenue reporting, reduce manual effort, and strengthen compliance frameworks.

  • Mentor and guide junior revenue analysts and accountants, reviewing their work to elevate team performance and ensure quality compliance.

Requirements

  • 12 - 15 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, revenue operations, or general accounting, ideally in a SaaS, hardware, or mixed-technology environment.

  • Expert-level understanding of ASC 606, including revenue recognition for multiple performance obligations, variable consideration, and contract modifications.

  • Hands-on expertise with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and CRM platforms (Salesforce).

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and a methodical approach to close execution and audit documentation.

  • Demonstrated track record of executing process automation, operational improvement projects, and successful external audit/SOX compliance cycles.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., B.Com/BBA), CA/CPA qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or Power BI for financial reporting and analytics.
