The Role

As the Senior Partner Solutions Architect at Cockroach Labs, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing our strategic partnerships with Global Systems Integrators. You will possess deep expertise in distributed architecture, databases, and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills. You should have a demonstrated ability to spot and identify business opportunities through your technical acumen and industry skills.

You Will

  • Act as a trusted advisor to GSI counterparts, cross functional teams within Cockroach Labs, and mutual customers
  • Act as a strategic technical leader in the field to provide architectural guidance, design patterns and integration recommendations necessary to promote & accelerate partner engagements worldwide
  • Ensure customer & partner success in designing, building, and migrating applications from legacy platforms
  • Formulate and execute a sales strategy in partnership with your channel manager to exceed revenue objectives
  • Contribute to pipeline building using your existing GSI partner network
  • Create joint GTM assets and accelerators with GSI partner teams 
  • Participate in regional SI events, town halls and tech shows representing and evangelizing CockroachDB
  • Author joint customer-facing publications such as white papers, blogs, and proof of concepts
  • Build deep relationships with senior technical staff across GSIs and enable them to become CRDB champions and advocates
  • Capture and share best-practices amongst the CRL solutions architect community
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats

The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will learn about CockroachDB and figure out where the product would be a good fit for certain use cases. During this time, we also believe it’s important for you to establish internal relationships across sales, product, and engineering to effectively be able to navigate resources to help you in your efforts with customers.


After 60 days, you will be leading channel efforts across our GSI partnerships. As you continue to grow in the role, you will work closely with our global sales organization, education team, and product management to align revenue goals and create a feedback loop for product development.

You Have

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in pre-sales, post-sales, and GSI partnership roles in both the cloud technology space and on-prem enterprise environments
  • 15+ years design, implementation, or consulting experience with distributed architecture
  • Clear understanding and experience handling and navigating with GSI partners ideally for an ISV
  • Extensive experience with database management systems; preferably DB2, Oracle, or Postgres
  • Deep understanding of cloud ecosystems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and demonstrate leadership
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on revenue growth and business impact
  • Resilient and composed in challenging situations
  • Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past experience in database migrations or legacy modernizations
  • Understanding of Banking, Payments or Retail domain is a plus
  • Past experience working for a global and/or regional Systems Integrators (SI)
