The Role

Cockroach Labs is looking for a Senior Executive Assistant Partner to provide high-level administrative support to our Chief People Officer and General Counsel. This role provides administrative support in managing calendars, coordinating travel, and scheduling meetings. You will anticipate the needs of your executives and help them stay focused on their projects by resolving operational and administrative issues before they arise. In addition to being organized and analytical, you possess the strong business judgment and communication skills needed to interact with a variety of people and job functions both internally and externally. Given the direct link between supporting our Chief People Officer and the People Team, you will also work to support in executing a wide range of company-wide events to enhance our already engaged workforce.

For this role, you must be based in New York and expected to come into the office four days a week.

You Will

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Chief People Officer and General Counsel, providing administrative support  (e.g., calendar, travel and expense reimbursement management) and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Prepare and review presentations, reports, and documents by gathering data and content from  key stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of operational workflows, ensuring key processes are efficiently tracked and followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Help coordinate team activities, employee programs, and internal communications that improve team engagement and collaboration.
  • Manage special projects, including corporate events, divisional off-sites, and legal or HR-related initiatives.
  • Organize and facilitate divisional meetings, including agenda preparation, note-taking, and follow- up on action items.
  • Provide backup administrative support for other members of the team during absences, holidays, etc.

The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will work closely with the Chief People Officer and General Counsel to better understand their scheduling needs. You will familiarize yourself with their preferred mode of engagement and optimize their schedules to remain efficient with internal and external obligations. During this time, you will also be learning about Cockroach Labs culture and how to navigate the organization. You will work closely with the Executive Administration Team to help shape the function’s best practices and standards.

After 30 days, you will have built strong working relationships with the executive leadership team and key personnel. You will be available for scheduling and ad-hoc requests as needed. During your second month, you will better understand specific departmental initiatives and goals, build relationships with core team members, and how you can proactively support your executives’ efforts throughout the year.

After 90 days, you will be fully integrated onto the Cockroach Labs team and have built a trusted relationship with your executives, beginning to act as a thought partner, anticipating needs and guiding them towards making decisions on how to best utilize their time. You will also begin organizing their annual divisional offsite.

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7-9+ years of experience supporting multiple leaders and/or high level executives; experience supporting a General Counsel is preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • A resourceful and intuitive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with GSuite products (Gmail, Google Calendar, Slides) and other productivity tools.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong sense of integrity and ability to maintain complete confidentiality on all business matters.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to be a team player and pitch in when needed; comfortable in a fast-paced environment with constant changes.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
