Sourcing Analyst

Remote - USA

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

The Sourcing Analyst – Services is part of Coinbase’s Source to Pay (S2P) organization within the Finance team. The team manages Coinbase’s third‑party services ecosystem across categories such as CX BPO, marketing and media, professional services, and corporate functions (Finance, People, Compliance).

In this role, you support the Strategic Sourcing – Services team by running structured sourcing events, negotiating commercial terms, and maintaining strong vendor relationships that drive savings, reduce risk, and enable Coinbase’s mission to increase economic freedom in the world. This position is ideal for an analytically minded, detail‑oriented sourcing professional who enjoys a fast‑paced, async‑first environment and wants to grow their career in services sourcing at Coinbase.

What you’ll be doing:

Strategic sourcing

  • Lead and support end‑to‑end sourcing for services engagements (e.g., CX BPO, consulting, marketing agencies, people/benefits, compliance, and other shared services), from intake in Zip through RFx, evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Partner with internal requesters to clarify scope, business requirements, timelines, and success metrics for each engagement.

Contracting, negotiation, and risk mitigation

  • Support a high volume of contracts (40+ per month) in an async culture while maintaining a strong Customer Focus for internal stakeholders.
  • Review and negotiate commercial terms (e.g., pricing, SLAs, renewals, termination, usage tiers) with vendors, partnering closely with Legal, Security/TPRM, P2P, and business stakeholders to reduce financial, legal, and operational risk for Coinbase.
  • Serve as an external‑facing representative of Coinbase in vendor communications, reinforcing our expectations for service quality, data protection, and compliance with Coinbase purchasing policies.

Analysis, savings, and category management

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on vendor proposals, pricing models, and spend/usage data to support award recommendations and category strategies for Services.
  • Contribute to spend management initiatives focused on savings, process efficiency, supplier consolidation, risk reduction, and improved transparency and control of expenditures.
  • Help maintain vendor tiering/segmentation and category plans for Services, including views of top vendors, concentration, pipeline, and savings tracking.

Operational excellence and tools

  • Use Zip, Ironclad, and Google Workspace to manage sourcing workflows, contracts, and documentation, ensuring data quality, auditability, and adherence to S2P SLAs.
  • Keep sourcing Desktop Procedures (DTPs), playbooks, and templates for Services current, accurate, and easy for stakeholders and BPO partners to follow; proactively identify and close documentation gaps.
  • Collaborate with BPO partners to balance volume, improve cycle times, and maintain a consistent stakeholder experience.

Stakeholder partnership and communication

  • Build trusted relationships with cross‑functional partners in Finance, CX, Marketing, People, Legal, Security/TPRM, P2P, and Outsourcing, helping them navigate S2P processes and understand sourcing trade‑offs.
  • Communicate clearly and asynchronously (Slack, Docs, Sheets) to provide status updates, surface risks, and explain the impact of sourcing decisions to business partners and leadership.

What we look for in you:

  • Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human‑in‑the‑loop practices to deliver business‑ready outputs and measurably improve efficiency, cost, and quality. At the L4 level, brings hands‑on experience using AI to draft sourcing artifacts (e.g., RFx documents, vendor analyses, and contract redlines), analyze spend and proposal data, and streamline stakeholder updates, and shows clear enthusiasm for experimenting with new AI capabilities and sharing best practices with the broader S2P and Finance teams.

 Education and background

  • BA/BS degree, preferably with an analytical focus (e.g., Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or similar fields).
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, consulting, operations, or related roles; experience with services categories (BPO, marketing, professional services, corporate services) is strongly preferred.

Skills and expertise

  • Proven ability to operate in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment with strong attention to detail, managing multiple requests and stakeholders at once.
  • Strong quantitative skills and a data‑guided approach to problem solving; experience analyzing spend, proposals, and usage data to inform sourcing strategy and vendor selection.
  • Comfort working with contracts and commercial terms and partnering with Legal on redlines for services agreements, SOWs, and order forms.
  • Proficiency with modern productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace) and openness to learning S2P tools such as Zip and Ironclad.

Ways of working and culture alignment

  • Demonstrated ability to Act Like an Owner: you proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and drive them through to resolution with limited direction.
  • Strong Clear Communication skills in an async‑first culture; you structure your thinking, write clearly, and tailor communication to the audience.
  • Commitment to Efficient Execution and Customer Focus — you balance speed and quality, respect SLAs, and keep internal stakeholders informed and supported.
  • Genuine interest in Coinbase’s mission and the future of digital currency; ideally, you are already a Coinbase user or are excited to become one.
  • Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human‑in‑the‑loop practices to deliver business‑ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality

Nice to haves:

  • Direct experience sourcing or managing services vendors such as CX BPO providers, marketing/creative agencies, consulting firms, benefits/HR providers, or audit/compliance partners.
  • Familiarity with S2P and spend‑management tools (e.g., Zip, Ironclad, Navan, or similar platforms).
  • Experience in high‑growth tech, fintech, or crypto environments where processes and playbooks are evolving, and/or exposure to third‑party risk management, security/privacy reviews, or other regulated environments.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
