The Stablecoin team within the Developer product group builds and operates the platforms that power stablecoin issuance, growth, and ecosystem expansion at Coinbase. As a Software Engineer, you'll help deliver a suite of international stablecoins by evaluating and integrating external partner APIs, building backend services that enable issuance and operations, and contributing to the rewards and growth systems that drive stablecoin adoption across Retail, Exchange, Prime, and Custody products.

What you'll do:

  • Build backend services that power stablecoin issuance, onboarding, and operations, including integrating external partner APIs with internal systems to launch new international stablecoins.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of features from technical design through production, working closely with product managers, designers, and tech leads on scope and implementation.
  • Support the smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard stablecoin supply, working with senior engineers on design and security review.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Stablecoins UX, Growth, and Ecosystem to deliver rewards, incentive, and conversion features that drive stablecoin adoption.
  • Execute reliability and quality improvements across the stablecoin platform, writing well-tested code and contributing to observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining production backend services in a service-oriented architecture.
  • Proficiency in Go and exposure to blockchain fundamentals (Ethereum or similar EVM chains).
  • Experience evaluating, integrating, and operating third-party APIs and external partner systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver features end-to-end with autonomy, from design through deployment and ongoing operation.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems patterns and a track record of writing high-quality, well-tested production code.
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)). 

 

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):

$152,405 - $179,300 USD
